BOX OFFICE: Updates On PACIFIC RIM, THE WOLVERINE And ELYSIUM
Overall, what are your thoughts on this summer's crop of 'blockbuster' films? Perhaps these latest box office numbers will support or refute your opinions on The Wolverine, Elysium, Pacific Rim and The Lone Ranger. Pacific Rim's China revenue has surpassed its US earnings.

The Wolverine has now earned $214.8M USD overseas, passing X-Men: First Class and making it the second highest grossing X-Men film after X-Men: The Last Stand. The Wolverine has earned $120.45M USD domestically, giving the film a global total of $335.25M USD on an estimated $120M USD production budget.
Pacific Rim has now officially earned more in China ($100.1M USD) than it has in the US ($98.4M USD). The film's international gross now totals $286M USD. Pacific Rim's global total now rests at $384.4M USD on an estimated $190M USD production budget. In regards to the low Japan box office numbers, Pacific Rim is only playing on ~550 movie screens, a low number, compared to the thousands of screens available in the US and China.
In its second weekend, Elysium dropped 54% to earn $13.6M USD domestically. It trails District 9's two week, domestic box office total by $17M USD. The film currently has a $93.6M USD global total on a $115M USD production budget. No cause for concern yet though as the the movie still has to premiere in quite a few foreign territories.
The Lone Ranger earned a tepid $7.6M USD overseas, bringing its global total to $215M USD. The film has finally matched its production budget.
