This past summer, plenty of negative comments were tossed upon Disney's The Lone Ranger, but there is a postive, Quentin Tarantino added the film to his top ten list of 2013 films.
“The first 45 minutes are excellent,” Tarantino told French weekly Les Inrockuptibles in a print interview translated by http://blogs.indiewire.com']);" target="_blank">Indiewire (via The Wrap). “The next forty-five minutes are a little soporific. It was a bad idea to split the bad guys in two groups; it takes hours to explain and nobody cares. Then comes the train scene. Incredible! When I saw it, I kept thinking, ‘What? That’s the film that everybody says is crap? Seriously?’”

From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the team behind the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American spirit warrior Tonto (Johnny Depp) recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid (Armie Hammer), a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.

The Lone Ranger is directed by Gore Verbinski, from a screenplay written by Ted Elliott, Terry Rossio, Eric Aronson and Justin Haythe. The film stars: Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Tom Wilkinson, William Fichtner, Barry Pepper, James Badge Dale, Ruth Wilson and Helena Bonham Carter. Now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

I actually really liked the film. It's a shame it under-performed. The trailers did not do it justice. I was not interested to see it at all based on the marketing, but when I saw it, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This film was a lot of fun. Its amazing how many people who never unstuck their fingers from their keyboards and sniffing mothers farts from the basement blast this movie because it got slammed by the critics before the film ever was released.

This movie is GREAT!!!

Easily the BEST film I saw in 2013.

AWESOME story, script, character development, humor, drama, action, historical template.

Better than all of the other "blockbusters" I saw this year.

I like the deleted scene with the swarming locusts. Would have been an excellent addition to an already great film.
