Four hundred years ago, Kit Walker, sole survivor of a pirate raid, washed up on a remote Bangalla beach. Fashioning a costume from a pirate’s plunder, Kit became The Phantom, devoting himself to fighting crime and injustice. Generation after generation, the Walker progeny have taken on their forefather’s creed. Today, handsome young Kit, twenty-first in the family line, is living in the states with his aunt and uncle when his father is killed at the hands of the Singh Brotherhood in Bangalla. Leaving behind his childhood sweetheart, Renny Davidson, Kit says goodbye to his life as a free-spirited young American and returns to the mysterious Bangalla jungle Skull Cave of his ancestors, utters the sacred oath of generations, and inherits the mantle of his superhero father. Kit is not alone in his quest, however. He has the one man in Bangalla who knows Kit’s secret—Guran, descendent of the original tribal chief who rescued the first Kit Walker. Kit also comes upon The Chronicles, an invaluable text that recounts the adventures and secrets of previous Phantoms, reveals the legends of their hidden treasures, and possesses the wisdom of the ages. But Kit’s prime missions now are to unravel the mystery of his father’s death and return to Renny.

Starring: Ryan Carnes as Kit Walker/Chris Moore (the 22nd Phantom)

Cameron Goodman as Renny Davidson (Kit's girlfriend and paramedic)

Jean Marchand as Abel Vandermaark (Kit’s mentor and one of the Walkers’ oldest allies)

Sandrine Holt as Guran (the Phantom's close friend and advisor)

Isabella Rossellini as Dr. Bella Lithia

Ron Lea as Detective Sgt. Sean Davidson (Renny's father)

Cas Anvar as Rhatib Singh (head of the Singh Brotherhood)

Ivan Smith as Dr. Deepak Baboor (director of Bpaa Thap)

It first aired in Canada in December 2009, then half a year later in the states on SYFY. You can own it now on Blu-ray or DVD theres a link below.

LEEE777 Like I said in my review a while back, if it ever made it to series, it should dump the new twisted version of the costume and think classic.

Hollywood, don't break what isn't broke!

Oh yeah my review = THE PHANTOM MINISERIES

I've heard the classic Zane version had many scenes cut, fingers crossed for an uncut version... hey it could happen! ; P

It actually wasn't bad. It was just different. Not always a bad thing. I bought it.

Yes it was @ Grif...

The action and story wasn't too bad but you could not believe the actor could possible be THE PHANTOM!

An yes, the suit sucked, but somehow they made the Blu-ray cover make it look decent lol?

Pretty much like that Spidey promo pic.

Btw, its never been reported here (the DVD cover) so I put the Blu-ray up.

Not a lot know about it!

I loved the Mini-series, it was different. Hoping to see more, with possibly the suit being modified a bit. I was hesitant about it at first but really turned out to not bother like I thought it would. Anyway I have the DVD and the original on Blu-Ray...LOVE both of them. :-)

I read the comics when I was younger at our local barber shop as a kid(damn!)...The Billy Zane version was very close in my book and still stands up! The newer one, nah!

Tea, you seem to be obsessed with maggots lately. You weren't bitten by a zombie were you?

LEEE, I haven't seen this one yet, and definitely can't stand that costume. But I concur on your wanting an extended version of the Zane film. I don't understand why people here hate that movie so much. It was pretty well done and Zane made an excellent Phantom IMO. And they respected the source material as well.

I guess they want a "darker, grittier", Phantom, with Nolan at the reigns. Just like the Nolanites want for every CBM franchise discussed on this site. Me, I enjoyed it very much. Although, I can understand why it didn't burn up the box office. It's essentially a superhero period piece which is a pretty hard thing to pull off. I put it in the same category as another such movie I like that people here hate on, The Shadow.

This was terrible. I loved the 1996 film because it correctly captured the comics of the 30's.
It could have used a bigger budget but Zane was good and it's a fun film. Like Indiana Jones meets Batman. The new costume is horrible. Looks like someone got a purple hoodie from Old Navy and some bad Oakley's.

There's been rumors for years of a reboot but all we got was this....for me to poop on!

As much as I enjoyed this mini, I'm not sure why this is front page material considering it's been out since early December. At least that's when I got the blu-ray.

What a waste of a perfectly good Blu-Ray disc. I'd call this series a piece of shit, but I don't want to insult fecal matter. At least fecal matter is useful. It is a byproduct of digestion, and started off as a nutritious and/or delicious meal or snack. Nothing useful came from this mini-series.
