THE FLASH: Ron Livingston Replaces Billy Crudup As Henry Allen; Saoirse-Monica Jackson And More Join Cast

We recently learned that Justice League star Billy Crudup was unable to reprise the role of Henry Allen in The Flash due to a scheduling conflict, and we now know who will be replacing him in the movie...

Variety reveals that Ron Livingston will replace Billy Crudup as Henry Allen in The Flash. The latter was forced to walk away from the DC Comics project due to scheduling conflicts caused by his commitments to Apple TV+ series The Morning Show. Thanks to COVID-19, production on the DC Comics adaptation has been postponed, and is now set to start later this year.

Livingstone might be best known for his memorable role in Boardwalk Empire, though he's more recently been seen in TV shows like Adaptation and Loudermilk. On the big screen, he's appeared in movies like Office Space and The Conjuring

Ezra Miller will reprise the role of Barry Allen in The Flash, while it's also been confirmed today that newcomer Ian Loh is taking on the role of a younger version of the Scarlet Speedster. The trade adds that Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls) and internet personality Rudy Mancuso have also been added to the movie in undisclosed roles. Unfortunately, we have no character details.

As far as previously announced cast members go, we know that Maribel Verdú will play Nora Allen, while Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton are expected to play their respective versions of Batman.

Kiersey Clemons, meanwhile, has signed on as Iris West, and the biggest casting news to date recently revealed that Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) is set to play a big screen Supergirl.

Andy Muschietti is directing The Flash based on a screenplay by Christina Hodson.
