There is a bit of confusion as you will see below, some of the artwork is labeled with Hasbro being the client. However, the company's recent book, Massive Black: Volume 2 has their Thor artwork listed as film artwork, alongside G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra and Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Even an artist that works for the company, Wesley Burt, describes his work as early designs for the film. I'll assume what is labelled with Hasbro is for the toys, and what is not, isn't. But, that's a best guess.

"Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, "Thor", which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth."

THOR - was directed by Kenneth Branagh, from a screenplay written by Ashley Edward Miller, Zack Stentz and Don Payne. The film stars: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Colm Feore, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. The film pulled in $449.3 million at the worldwide box office, against a budget of $150 million.

I don't understand why they would change Mjolnir.
Otherwise not bad designs on everything else.

I disagree PantherX, I think that we needed much more of the helmet. Especially in battle. I knight wouldn't go into a battle without his helm.

Spot on. We needed way more of the helmet. Looked so much more authentic

Some of the Thor designs are down right awful(levi pants? Really?) but some are pretty cool. I guess that's why its concept art, whittle out what doesn't work.
Put classic Mjolnir in the hands of the #6 would be great.

IDK why they only had the helmet on for one scene.

I kinda dig the punk rocket thor in the last one with the tats.

Ya if they went with any of the helmets besides #6 I would be glad they barely used the helmet for Thor. The helmet they had in Thor looked good and would be fine for him to wear to battle Loki looked great in his helm and between the two looks far more ridiculous.

@Praetorian

Tis be the mighty cod piece of Thor with thy protects thee Mighty Thor from any rogue doth given a ghastly kick to thine balls.

Ya most of the costume designs they came up with here suck and I am so glad they never made it to the movie because Thor would look terrible. Some of the Frost Giant designs look good but the third one looks more demonic and should be a minion of say Sultur or Hela then a frost giant.

Wouldnt mind some yellow on Thor's costume
Those Frost Giants look cool
Hope we get more monster-like creatures

I agree with PantherX that I wouldn’t want the helmet over used. I think they made the right decision to only use it as a ceremonial piece. He would have to adjust the thing constantly during battle. Not that it looks bad just inconvenient when he’s nearly invulnerable anyway. Lokis looks good tho

Some of those look pretty gay, some frost giant concepts look good though. I'm glad with what Thor ended up looking like so much better than some of these.

Wow, I much prefer the original helmet!mi - being a DC man/how'd you guess(?), what you guys were hopin I was going going to say gay? Lol - was shocked at how much I fell in live with the original.mIm objective(1st!!!!!) I believe lying about Marvels success & quality as a DC fan is hypocritical. IF you can genuinely say with a str8 face you hate a EVERY Marvel film you've seen; NOT JUST the Fox 1's lol, then fine! Bit I give props where it's due. QUANTITY/gettin-their-crap-2gether/quality-IN-quantity wise Marvel has won over DC time & time & time & TIME AGAIN, I can just admit the truth. But yeah the "Year of Thir "vs" Green Lant" we all KNEW 'twas to be the year of sucky offerings from BOTH, to the point where I sweated off both!! 4the 1st time in my life - unlike MOST bitch(ing) fan boys; I said Id see neither(!!!)&MEANT IT(!!!) whereas I call bs on fanboys when they say the following "I will never ever see (enter any modern/post Marvel vs DC film)! Although things like GOTgalaxy/&obscure films like Man Thing I don't count; too 3rd 4th tier quality & otherwise! BUT I've kept my word on GL(!!) but Thor I saw,,,albeit on DVD(almost REpurchased the thing on a splurge visit to GameStop tonight! I HIghly rec their quality price&pick of 'store gently used blu rays btw! 1st Thor was awesome! Most successful DOUBTED costume2screen ever(!!!) over ALL non Bat in the Sun Bat suits - PREDICTION; I SAID IT HERE1st; & u twitter twat size reading material ladies & gents will prolly never read it bc aLOT of yous '84 programmed minds strangely feel that reading must be 45characters or less. H,mm, I wonder Y they aLOTted this much space if they agreed. Complain, complaint about my length to them & get it shortened, otherwise Rush Limbull me; don't pay attention! Most of the hate I get is racist bc of the name anyway. ANYway I think Thors suit is the best in Avengers minus NOT-made-n-a-cgi-program-Iron Man, the 1 that basically all it does is open the face. Just thing stuntman OR RDJ neither are like ever in that suit post Iron Man. Anything that sucky sequel forward. Hulk's actor reps his character in less cgi scenes than RD-million-$-Jr, minus the smart butt Im pretty close to literal(!!) CERTAINLY AS Banner lol thanks for my fans who read! Love you guys!

And so continues the helmet debate. I have to ask... why is it ok for Loki, Odin and the Asgardian warriors to wear helmets but Thor gets a pass? I dont think that a logical explanation has been given for that.
mdwilliamson24
mdwilliamson24 - 8/31/2013, 9:35 PM
Well, I'd like to point out that Lady Sif, Hogun and Volstagg are all helmet-less too. So Thor is not the only one sans helm.
