Other than some set photos and official synopsis, we haven't heard that much about Thor: The Dark World, an upcoming sequel directed by Alan Taylor and starring Chris Hemsworth as the Mighty Avenger. The film is set to explore other realms as Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos. There has been some speculation on when we might see the first trailer, but according to Emileeid, the teaser trailer will premier online on April 2nd and it will eventually be attached to the prints of Shane Black's Iron Man 3. Other than Evil Dead and Jurassic Park 3D, there is no other big releases that week in theatres, and since this is not confirmed just yet, take it with a grain of salt.

Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Thor: The Dark World is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne (credit not final) and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely (credit not final) and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962.

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

First movie was awful, so I'm not much excited about this one, only good thing is alan taylor directing and the hope for more realistic sets and less cgi.

I have a feeling Phase 2 will be as someone said, The "Empire Strikes Back" of Marvel. I think were in for darker Phase 2 films :). This movie looked amazing just from those batches of set photos, can't imagine how awesome the finished product will look!

"Absence and misuse in the Avengers"? Where do you get this stuff from? I'll admit definitely Iron Man gave him a bit too much of a hard time in the forest (but it was obvious Thor was holding back) but really?

I liked Thor. The fights should have been longer tho he quickly disposed of the Destroyer & Loki.Hopefully we see a bigger bout like the the fight with the Frost Giants.

@Jollem I completely agree that they misused him in The Avengers. They needed more Thor action IMO he's a freaking God 4 [frick]s sake! Yet Hulk & IM got the best action scenes.Shit Cap could have used more action 2 IMO.
