Happy about their race actually having a damn alien language. Its good to know that English isn't the only language that other beings speak in outer space.

@Batmaniac

Well the ancient humans looked up to Asgardians as gods. how do you know WE aren't speaking Asgardian?

I never understood the Asgardian English thing either. Even if you say humans learned Shakesperean English language from Scandanavian gods how do you explain the fact that their language has elements of Latin, Ancient Greek, and Old German?

Well, at least it makes more sense than Kryptonians knowing the exact same English language as we do for no apparent reason.

Maybe because they are a race that predates the universe?
RamonSuarez
RamonSuarez - 10/15/2013, 9:56 AM
Actually, it does. At least with Asgardians you can say we learned it from them since there was contact between the two civilizations. In Kryptons case there were two separate alien civilizations separated by entire galaxies with the same language.

And the Chitauri don't speak English. The Other does. And does so in the presence of an Asgardian and Thanos.

"A 1 minute scene showing Malekith speaking was better than every other movie this year? That's a bold statement."

Only one really...

I am actually curious to see if GOTG will have other alien languages. I hope they do. It will add flavor to the fantasy universe they've created.

RamonSuarez
RamonSuarez - 10/15/2013, 10:05 AM
@0megaDaGod

I like authenticity in my alien movies the way Star Trek does with Klingons, Vulcans, Romulans, etc. that have their own languages. I think it adds to the illusion of an alien culture and world.

This goes for Asgard as it did for Krypton. Would have loved a Scandanavia-English type alien language in Thor and some kind of alien language in Krypton - especially since it makes ZERO sense to have Kryptonians speak Shakespearean English with British accents if they didn't have prior contact with humanity.

Good scene, though the vfx did looked as cheap as hell when the face helmet retracted to reveal Malekith's face.

Aether in greek mythology is the air that gods breathe TRUST ME I'M GREEK

I don't really like it when they mess up mythologies but I'll take it. Loki should be Odin's brother anyway...

LOL. Still didn't read.

I just wanted to see if you admitted you missed the obvious fact that the Other does not = Chitauri. You did. So My interest stopped.
