Thor: Ragnarok arguably saved the franchise, and while we don't know how things will play out for the God of Thunder in Avengers: Endgame, the hope is that a fourth instalment will receive the green light from Marvel Studios in the not too distant future.

With any luck, Taika Waititi will once again be at the helm and it's easy to imagine Thor 4 being a billion dollar hit based on how the last instalment was received. Now, actress Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) has revealed that the movie has been pitched to the studio by the filmmaker.

"I heard that a pitch has happened for [another "Thor" film]," she reveals. "I don't know how real that intel is, but I hear that the pitch has happened. I think the idea is Taika [Waititi, who directed 'Ragnarok'] would come back."

That's a little vague, but potentially fantastic news nonetheless, as it would be great to see more of Thor's adventures alongside characters like Valkyrie, Korg, and Miek. Captain America and Iron Man's post-Endgame fates in the Marvel Cinematic Universe remain something of a mystery, but the Thor franchise living on ensures that there's still a familiar face around from the first three Phases!

@PAK - They should go with a merged storyline where Surtur is still alive and has ravaged and destroyed the planet Korbin. The remaining Korbinites create Beta Ray Bill whom holds Thor responsible for releasing Surtur.

Beta Ray Bill captures Thor and demands his help in defeating Surtur for good. Thor recruits Valkyrie, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot to devise a plan to banish Surtur back to Muspelheim for eternity.

It'd be a perfect entry point for Silver Surfer

@MusaTariq25 - Or Beta Ray Bill, Silver Surfer deserves his own movie and he doesn't really have a connection to Thor or his storylines.

There is so much with regards to Thor for Marvel to explore still. Beta Ray Bill and New Asgard just for starters. Of Marvel's big three, he's had the roughest go at it with his films. Thor 4 may right that wrong.

Now that the eternal ones are going to debut in the mcu, I want to see Phastos in Thor 4.

He can be a great ally.

YES PLEASE

Also, Chris Hemsworth:
“This is sort of Marvel’s Phase Three wrapping up and culmination of all this journey, whether or not they go off and shoot other things — prequels or sequels or whatever they can do — I mean Loki, my brother, has come back nine times, every time he dies he just keeps appearing, so who knows what’s in store for anyone. Me personally, it’s the best fun I’ve ever had, and I’d be happy to do more if they wanted me. More than happy.”

Of course! They reinvented the character perfectly with Ragnarok! It would be weird if they don't produce more Thor-movies.

Doubt it will happen, dont want to end up like Star Wars, doing the same thing too often, im sure they want to move focus to the new generation
Captain Marvel

@dracula - Do you not know how Ragnarok works in the MCU? Yes, it's like the Apocalypse. But it also means new beginnings.

[frick] yea I hope so! Ragnarok was great and I'd love to see more of Taika's take on Thor.

Speaking of, that Endgame trailer released a couple of days ago that shows all the MCU movies is really good but I have to say the Thor theme used in the first movie and in Ragnarok is so underrated. I didn't get into movie scores until recently but I remember that when I watched the first Thor movie I loved how it sounded. That trailer just reminded me of it. Brilliant stuff.

@DnA - I especially loved Cap’s theme in that one. Aside from having it in the opening of Wonter Soldier, they threw it out. Although it kinda makes sense, a patriotic theme doesn’t really work with a guy that rejects his government much

I hope this happens.

In fact I hope all the Original MCU Avengers stay on and continue their roles in future films. Maybe each don’t get their own movies...but who on Earth doesn’t eventually want to see Avengers vs. X-Men?

@deepee3 - I would be fine without ever having an Avengers vs X-Men film.

In my opinion the X-Men should stay in their own corner of the MCU and only get involved with Avengers stuff when it's something like Infinity War or End Game.

X-Men have always been at their best on their own in the comics. It's fine to establish that they are friends and allies with the Avengers. But I don't personally need a big crossover focused on the two of them. X-Men have way too many great villains and stories to be wasting time with and movies with Avengers crossovers.

@CorndogBurglar - AvX was also not a very good storyline
