THOR: THE DARK WORLD Set Videos Featuring Battle Scenes

Hit the jump to check out some new set videos from the filming of Alan Taylor's Thor: The Dark World at the Bourne Woods set. The only star I was able to spot is Jaimie Alexander (Sif) on horseback, sorry no Chris Hemsworth (Thor).

First off, bear in mind these aren't high-quality set videos. The two amateur paps did their very best to capture as much action as they could while being stuck behind the treeline and clouds of smoke that obscured some of the scenes. Not all, just some.

As I said before the videos above aren't high-quality, not as good as the set photos or even the first set video. If you missed any of those just click on one of the links below.

Thor need to use lightning more in this movie...
He only used it like 8 times so far:
-Summon earthquakes against Frost Giants
-Armor up before Destroyer
-Breaking the Bifrost
-Charging Iron Man
-Armor up in the weed field
-Help Cap by backstabbing the 3 Chitari
-Bags up the portal
-Hammer the Chitari troop transport with lightning
He is more like the God of Hammer than Lightning. :(

@coughcough.. 8 separate uses of lightning over two movies isn't enough for you? The man needs to have scenes of dialogue and fist fights, he can't just zap stuff for 2 hours

@CoughCough - I hear ya, dude. I do agree that they should incorporate more of Thor's signature lightning skills/moves in future Thor flicks, but all in all, Thor was bad@$$ in both Thor and The Avengers. :)

Bad@$$. ;)

@everyone I wasn't complaining on what they did to Thor. In fact I think they did a perfect job bringing him to screen. What I meant is that Mjolnir should spark lightning whenever Thor swings it like in the comics. Just imagine how much cooler the shot of Thor hammering Hulk will be with LIGHTING!

Jane Foster being used as a catalyst to get Thor to care for humans and become humble. It was one movie and his introduction as a character based on one of Thor's greatest storylines which provided the basis for who Thor is today in comics and people are bitching about there not being enough action? It was his [frick]ing introduction movie to an audience that has no idea who he is and made him an icon and one of the faces of Marvel to the world.

It definitely had some flaws but I think Branagh did a great job. One thing I've noticed about Marvel with the MCU is that they actually listen to feedback. They do try some risky things or different ideas but when it proves not to work, they learn. That being said, I'm stoked for Thor: Dark World and hope they keep it up.

@ cough cough I like that idea they should put more lightning in like you said when he swing Mjolnir maybe they can find a way to "upgrade" his powers and include that in TDW
thunderforce
thunderforce - 9/20/2012, 5:39 PM
Yea I dont like in the movies he seems to charge his hammer with lightning then unleash it , he should just be able to unleash it at will and when he gets mad it should just crackle off his hammer and thunder should be heard .

Hahaha "Mjolnir should spark lightning whenever Thor swings it like in the comics" I'm sorry but that doesn't happen whenever Thor swings Mjölnir in the comic. When Thor fights it's pretty much like the movies in that he swings and throws Mjölnir, when he get's pissed then you start to see lightning. What you do see a lot of is when he comes in for an attack is lightning come down in the background.

"But like everyone I expected much more "thunder" stuff, like storms and lightning visual effects"

Don't count me in that everyone sentence the movie came out just how I expected for a first film.

"maybe they can find a way to "upgrade" his powers and include that in TDW"

correction "Maybe they can find a way to show his other powers in TDW", what do you think this is power rangers, he already has the power it just needs to be shown.

@thunderforce there was one instance in Thor in the final battle between loki and thor on the bifrost bridge when loki tazerd him, thor had fallen to the ground, loki then created multiple illusions with wich were blown away by a blast of lightning from the hammer. but yes we needs more lightning from hammer, more thunder, more boasting about being the son of odin!

There is three specific things i wanna see in this movie :
1. The paths between worlds the loki mentioned
2. Thor yell FOR ASGARD! or FOR MIDGARD! or FOR THE REALM ETERNAL! or FOR ODIN! at least we got to hear it once from volstagg
3: And i wanna see Balder the Brave goddammit!! where the [frick] is he..has loki already killed him or what?!! >.<

plus i wouldnt mind seeing the Einherjar in the movie as well, plus the should mention Valhalla and the Valkyries.

Man i love Marvels Thor myhtos or whatever you call it

Thor is my Fav marvel hero, hence my name da-hamma, TDW is gonna be amazing. One thing im very happy about is that when you really look at it, like go back and watch Thor then the Avengers.....then you realize, Thor is the Badass out of the group

What makes these movies so great is the fact that they concentrate on plot and story, not special effects and high doses of fight scenes. The moment comic book movies lose site of that is the moment that they'll stop making bank the way the currently do.

The first Thor was great; it introduced the character, his story and the essence of his soul. They should continue along those lines and they'll be able to make four or five more movies in this incarnation. If this series turns into lightning, thunder, LOTR style never ending fight scenes, it's going to lose much of its audience, and that will end it.

CoughCough - 9/29/2012, 8:07 PM
@Ace101 No, I just re-watched Thor today. And the lightning Thor used on the rainbow bridge did not come from his hammer. What we saw is the spark that ricochet off his hammer when he call down the lightning. So I think they made Thor only able to summon a storm/lightning rather than to create it in the films.
