New Thor: Love and Thunder content keeps on coming, this time with a clip revealing a key scene in the highly anticipated Marvel Studios blockbuster.

The God of Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy appear to be on some sort of spiritual retreat, only to be interrupted when one of the locals asks for Thor's help. Someone has murdered their Gods (Gorr the God Butcher, perhaps?), leaving their place of worship vulnerable to attack.

Despite typically showing a dislike for Thor, Star-Lord seems incredibly excited about hearing the hero's battle cry, and this looks like another fun moment in the Thor: Ragnarok sequel. Some fans appear worried that the movie might be too light-hearted, but with Gorr taking aim at our heroes, there's no doubt they'll be facing a terrifying and credible threat.

Talking to IGN, Chris Hemsworth said that Christian Bale has crafted one of his "favourite villains in the Marvel universe." The actor would add, "He's hugely intimidating and destructive, but the right amount of heart and truth there and relatable pain that we can attune to or understand ourselves."

"So, it makes it all the more complex when you're trying to figure out what everyone's motivations are."

Something tells us Thor: Love and Thunder will definitely have a serious side, even if it's not evident from the trailers and sneak peeks. It's a shame we're not seeing more of that tone, but remember that Thor: Ragnarok also had a lot of heart among the big laughs (Thor even lost an eye).

Check out the new clip below:

The movie finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a quest for inner peace. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods. To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.

Directed by Taika Waititi, the movie stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale, Tessa Thompson, Russell Crowe, Jaimie Alexander, Chris Pratt, Karen Gillan, and Sean Gunn among others.

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released in theaters on July 8, 2022.

@Shivermetimbers - I don't think you know what slapstick is.

@Amaru - I figured some condescending douche might say that.

@Shivermetimbers - "Slapstick is a style of humor involving exaggerated physical activity that exceeds the boundaries of normal physical comedy."

by definition, this statement is simply not true.

@Spidey91- I see that you messaged me but can not see your response for some reason unless I am logged out. That said, I was *slightly* exaggerating, but only slightly, in order to elicit conversation about the movie, not some self serious "well acktully..." type. You used the wikipedia definition, which is probably the worst definition to use. According to Merriam Webster, " comedy stressing farce and horseplay" and the google result from Oxford Languages, "comedy based on deliberately clumsy actions and humorously embarrassing events." I would argue that I was not exaggerating all that much, or maybe even not at all, based on those definitions.

Definitely my most anticipated movie. I loved the first season of Our Flag Means Death. Taika is a master.

I just wished that the lot of heart scenes in Ragnarok lasted longer and were more than the big laughs.

Nice clip. I am gotta try to get my tickets.

I'm sure this will be entertaining but as a HUGE fan of that Aaron run with Gorr, when Thor first hears the prayers and cries from a far-off world and finds out that gods are being hunted and killed, it's such a big moment.

This would've been so cool to see on the big screen

I hate to judge by the trailers because I remember that "The Hangover" kept all it's dramatic, heart-felt scenes out of all of them.

@rychlec - this right here. Like there’s gonna really be a guy butchering gods and Thor won’t get emotional. And ruin it. But that’s not the point. In fact I laugh at the ruin it stuff too. Look man I loved Ragnarok AND Infinity War AND Endgame, so I’m good,

Loved Ragnarok, but I hope with a tragic character like Gorr the drama is played up more with this Thor entry.

There was an episode of the Simpsons back in the day where Homer was watching a TV show called "Police Cops". He was stunned to find out the main character was named Simpson, Detective Homer Simpson. The character, and show was basically a rip off of Don Johnson and Miami Vice. Homer freaked out, and started acting like a big shot. But one the creators saw that the real Homer was an idiot, They realized they wanted to remake the character into a bumbling oaf. So one episode, you had a smooth, in charge, badass cop. The next episode he turned into the biggest goof ever.

I can't help but think of that episode every time I see Thor nowadays. They even made him a fat goof. Look, I get it. People thought the Thor character was boring. Even Hemsworth was bored of the character. I don't exactly know what they could have done with the character besides make him a brutal violent Norse God pushing that PG-13 rating to it's limits, but turning him into a goofball never really sat right with me. I have never been on the Taika train.

But hey, audiences seem to like it so...
