Jeff Goldblum Says The Grandmaster Is Seeking Pleasure In Marvel's THOR: RAGNAROK
If you were as excited as we were to hear that Independance Day star Jeff Goldblum is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as an Elder of the Universe, check out what the actor has to say!

When Empire sat down with Jeff Goldblum to talk about returning for the upcoming sequel Independence Day: Resurgence, the Oscar-nominated actor was eventually asked about the totally unexpected news that he is joining the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We know the Jurassic Park star will be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok as the Grandmaster, who is an ancient elder of the universe in Marvel Comics, but Goldblum has offered some details on the character’s cinematic portrayal as well as what made him accept the role.
“He’s a hedonist, a pleasure-seeker,” he said of the Grandmaster. “He’s an enjoyer of life and tastes and smells. I thought, ‘I can do that, I’ll bet!’ I’m working on my part every day. I’m a sponge, researching. [Taika Waititi] is encouraging me to improvise and make it my own, and that’s what I’m trying to do. I hope he doesn’t throw me out on the first day!”
Jeff Goldblum went on to reveal that his scenes for Thor: Ragnarok will only require “three weeks or a month” for him to shoot in Brisbane, Australia, where principal photography will take place starting on the fourth of July. About the Marvel threequel’s star-studded cast, he gushed: “Not only Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Anthony Hopkins… jeez, that’s gonna be fun. I’ve never been to Australia except to do these little publicity things.”
As aforementioned, Thor: Ragnarok is set to start shooting July 4th on the Gold Coast among other places in Australia, and under the working title Creature Report. According to one crew member, the production should wrap there in late October, which is right before the two-part Avengers: Infinity War will start filming back-to-back. What do you think?
Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, and it stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Idris Elba (Heimdall), Sir Anthony Hopkins (Odin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Karl Urban (Skurge), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), with Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster) and Cate Blanchett (Hela). And Thor: Ragnarok is set to open in theaters on November 3, 2017.
