Stellan Skarsgård Not Returning For THOR: RAGNAROK, Could Turn Up In AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR

Erik Selvig actor Stellan Skarsgård has revealed that he won't be returning for Thor: Ragnarok. Does this mean there will be less time spent on Earth for Earth's Mightiest Asgardian?

While speaking to Den of Geek to promote his upcoming feature, Our Kind Of Traitor, actor Stellan Skarsgård revealed what's on his Marvel slate.  It appears that Skarsgård's Erik Selving will not be featured in Thor: Ragnarok.  Could this be an indication that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) will not be spending a significant amount of time on Midgard?

Skarsgård also revealed that he had a five-picture deal with Marvel, meaning he has one film left in his deal (after appearing in Thor, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World and Avengers: Age of Ultron).  The Swedish actor believes that Marvel will cash in its remaining Selvig chips for Avengers: Infinity War.

"I have a five-film deal with them, and they still have one option.  Thor 3 is not on my slate, but maybe the next Avengers."

Thor: Ragnarok is currently set to his US theaters November 3, 2017.  Taika Waititi directs from a script written by Stephany Folsom.  Besides Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo's Hulk is also confirmed to appear.  Recently,  Cate Blanchett also joined the cast as Hela.  Samuel L. Jackson is also rumored to appear as Nick Fury.

This is a good sign, the earth characters were the worst part of the last two Thor movies. This combined with Hulk and Thor's dynamic, I really think this movie is going to surprise people.

Hopefully this means less darcy, jane and other earth characters and more of asgard and all the othe realms. The dynamic between thor and loki are what carried the first two thor movies. Every time they skipped to earth the movie just starts to drag.
