UPDATE: Is This Our First Look At 'Donald Blake' In THOR: THE DARK WORLD?

Well it's our first look at actor Chris O'Dowd at any rate, and although it's still unclear who he's actually playing, speculation has him pegged as Dr. Donald Blake. Whoever he is, check out some snaps of him having dinner with Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and Darcy (Kat Dennings).

UPDATE: So apparently this is not Blake, just some random dude named Richard that Jane has a date with. Why O'Dowd was so secretive about that in interviews I have no idea, but at least we got some fun speculation out of it!

Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins. The sequel hits theaters November 8, 2013.

O'Dowd is British, a lot of Thor 2 seems to be set in the UK...but the Donald Blake reference in Thor was in the USA

That's not Donald Blake, it's just a random guy who Jane is on a date with, I don't think he'll serve any significance in the film.

This is from the Spoilers from the Junior Novel that was posted the other day...

"Back in London, Jane is on a date with a guy named Richard (Darcy got her into those online blind date thingees with the profile). Darcy herself would crash Jane’s date to “hint” her about strange readings that she got from the equipment that they’ve been using to track Thor..."

"O'Dowd is British"

Irish...the "O" with the apostrophe gives it away, even aside from his accent.

Why the [frick] are they focusing on this stuff?

Give me Thor, Malekith, Loki, Odin. No one cares about Richard and Darcy.

I swear to god if Richard is the main villain controlling Malekith or some shit, Imma be pissed.

I would be a huge shame if he is just a single scene throwaway character :( kind of hope he is Nova, but that just seems so unlikely.

I can't see him as a villain so that's Richard Fisk and Firebrand out,
Richard Gilmore/Prodigy is a teeneger so he's out.

there really aren't many Richard's in the Marvel Universe, :( shame because that's my name :D
