I want to see even more of Asgard in the sequel. The whole "we need to stop ______ before they destroy the world" gig gets boring. I want to see Asgard at risk! And they captures that invasion moment pretty good in the film. Less of Earth and more of Asgard for Thor 3.

@MAC Not really. Mars can't sustain a capable magnetosphere to protect it's atmosphere from the suns rays and the atmosphere it creates gets blown away. The terraforming was just changing the atmosphere and gravity (i think). For them to have capable life on mars they'd have to have a thick ass [frick] atmosphere.

Yeah, I couldn't help but think of that whole "Mars" thing myself at the end of Man of Steel. I'm sure Superman would have been MORE than willing to revive Krypton if they'd just headed for Mars-- a dead planet ripe for terraforming, but close enough to the sun to make them all superpowerful anyway. But NOOOOOO, Zod had to decimate a living, breathing world for reasons that could have been easily explained with a throwaway line.

"Oh, hey-- terraforming only works on world that fit a certain geographical or astrological criteria, BTW. So we can't just choose one at random... and since Earth is the only one we know of for certain that can support sustainable life (since all the other colonies died for some reason), we kinda have to do it here."

PROBLEM SOLVED.

(Then again, I guess the last thing Man of Steel really needed was MORE exposition.)
