Steven Spielberg Says The TINTIN Sequel Script Is Done; Hopes To Shoot At The End Of The Year
While he wont be directing The Adventures of Tintin sequel, Steven Spielberg will still be heavily involved. While chatting about a number of his project, Spielberg said that they have completed the script, and are expecting to shoot the movie later this year.
When we first got the news that there was going to be a batch of films based on The Adventures of Tintin, it was known that Steven Spielberg would direct the first one with Peter Jackson stepping in for the second one. Even though Spielberg wont be directing the film, he will still serve as an Executive Producer. While chatting with The Times of India, Spielberg said they have a completed script. "Peter Jackson is directing the next one, I'm producing. We have a script," said Spielberg. The next story will combine two books, although Spielberg remained tight-lipped about which two books it would be.
A couple of months ago Peter Jackson said that they hope to have the second Tintin movie out in 2015. Spielberg echoed that goal by saying, "Don't hold me to it, but we're hoping the film will come out around Christmas-time in 2015." He also said that they are hoping to shoot the motion capture for the film late this year.
While Spielberg didn't say which books they were adapting this time around, he was pressed for more information with people throwing names of the famous Herge books out there. One of the titles was The Blue Lotus. Spielberg just smiled and said that they will probably wait to do that one for the third film.
