Michael Bay to Return for the Fourth Transformers Installment?

During a special screening of Transformers: Dark of the Moon in Miami, director Michael Bay hints a possibility of him to return for the possible fourth installment of the series. Hit the jump to check it out!

The Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, are back in action, taking on the evil Decepticons, who are determined to avenge their defeat in 2009’s Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. In this new movie, the Autobots and Decepticons become involved in a perilous space race between the U.S. and Russia, and once again human Sam Witwicky has to come to the aid of his robot friends. There’s new characters too, including a new villain in the form of Shockwave, a longtime "Transformers" character who rules Cybertron while the Autobots and Decepticons battle it out on Earth.

Thanks to Screen Rant and the Twitter account DCU Movie Page for the heads-up, here is what the reports say:

With Miami being a "second home" to Bay, he made sure that Paramount held a special screening there for the film in addition to the big premieres and I was able to partake in the fun thanks to WOMWorld/Nokia. Although it wasn’t a press-focused premiere like the Moscow and New York Transformers 3 events, this more intimate night out did have a red carpet setup for Michael Bay, star Tyrese Gibson and the Red Bull Air Force base jumpers. Yes, those intensely brave people who jumped out of the Trump Towers in downtown Chicago to make that momentous action sequence in the film possible, were there and they arrived in style.

Before the film played, Michael Bay said a few words to the packed audience, reiterating what Miami means to him and his career and he touched on how this moment in time was 'bittersweet' for him, in that he’s happy to have accomplished what he did with the third Transformers film and the six years of his life he’s dedicated to the series but he’s sad that it’s his last. Of course, this was met with "boos" from the crowd who want more.

And here is what Michael Bay himself had to say:

"This is bittersweet because this is probably the last one for me... [crowd boos] Hey, hey, but, but, last night it opened in America and did somewhere like $50 million dollars. Now in movie speak, $50 million in one day, on a Wednesday, that’s freaking awesome so...

Of course this is yet to be a confirmation and is merely a possible hint or even only to please fans. However, if this ever be true it surely contradicts with what Shia LaBeouf has claimed regarding himself and Michael Bay to not return for another entry in the franchise. But with Transformers: Dark of the Moon currently holds $486,639,993, it all can just be about money talk. Additionally, since a fourth movie is also rumored we can just wait to see what will happen next. Anyway, follow the link below to check out the full report, and also what do you think of this? Sound off your opinions on the usual spot!

With the cast of Shia LaBeouf, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson as well as the voices of Peter Cullen and Leonard Nimoy, Transformers: Dark of the Moon is out now!

no way, I love his trilogy, they are a bit of fun but all the extra pointless humans bullshit & stupid childish humour he keeps adding to the movies is stupid and I was really getting sick of it in the newest one

I cheered when Ken Jeong died, I hate Malkovich, I hated Frances McDormand & the whole Sam job interview bullshit was pointless. I get that they wanted to give Sam a story arc of how he saved the world twice but he now felt useless, I understood that. But couldnt they have started with Sam in the deadend job and then go with the whole plot of Laserbeak attacking him in the office without that whole pointless opening

enough Michael Bay, this franchise needs a new cast and director. I dont care if it is a reboot or a loose sequel

come on now u guys have to relax! its not like he wrote the scripts n story the studio heads that produce it make those descions. micheal bay just directs it n did a great job directing these movies. if u remember the cartoon it was cheesey as hell and all based on stereo types, im not sayin the movies are perfect but it was fun n set the bar on action movies.

O GOD, if Bay's helming T4, we're gonna be stuck watching repeated scenes and/or reject reels of Bad Boy highway chases, Pearl Harbour war scenes, Armageddon space shots & earth reentry scenes, more car chases from Island, carformmercials, all with terminator/predator/matrix looking transformers strategically placed in to pass off as something new. Come up with something new you lazy rip-off, we're also not expecting Shakespeare, but at least do some decent storytelling!
