The marketing campaign for Transformers: The Last Knight is seriously kicking things into high gear (a full year before the film's release). Following the reveal of the first official poster and a glimpse of Optimus Prime fighting a three-headed dragon, the film's official Twitter account has confirmed that eventual Optimus Prime-successor,  Hot Rod aka Rodimus Prime, will be making his debut in The Last Knight.

Aside from the warring factions of Autobots and Decepticons, the humans appearing on screen in The Last Knight include Mark Wahlberg, who reprises his role as Cade Yeager with Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael making their franchise debut.  Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson also reprise their roles in the franchise, with Anthony Hopkins set to voice one of the new Transformers in the film.

The Last Knight will be the first Transformers production since a Writer's Room was formed to create a Transformers Cinematic Universe for Paramount. Among its members were Steven S. DeKnight (Daredevil), Zak Penn (The Incredible Hulk), Jeff Pinker (Lost), Art Marcum and Matt Holloway (Iron Man),  Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), Christina Hodson (Shut In), Lindsey Beer, Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Geneva Robertson-Dworet.

@SuperCat - Why Hot Rod sucks it's because of his dumb ass that Optimus Prime was killed in his fight with Megatron. If Hot Rod had done what he was told and stayed out of the fight Optimus would have killed or just defeated Megatron.

@pesmerga44 - I actually liked Hod Rod. Didn't like him becoming Rodimus Prime and leading the Autobots though. I was pissed when they killed Optimus.

@Ramiel - Well, when he got the Matrix of Leadership from Optimus, he became bigger and had some other cosmetic changes.

I'm kind of glad, that they got back to the style of design from first three movies. But (as usual) it's looks nothing like original incarnation of character. However, I hope they won't give us Rodimus, because IMO he was terrible leader. I would like to see Ultra Magnus as an leader of Autobots on Earth. And if they give us Hot Rod, maybe they gonna give us Kup (I would love him to be voiced by R. Lee Ermey).

@Demo2nd - the only Autobots which thier G1 look was Optimus and Jazz... but other then that everyone has had thier own unique design.

@MCUPhase3 - NO Autobot in these movies have their G1 look, except for that small moment in the 4th movie, when Optimus is found by Mark Walberg's character.

@Luminus - oh meant like a G1 resemblance look not completely a 100% representation of the character but I do like how the transformers look in the film's especially the detail and thier awesome weapons.... expect for Skids and and Mudflap though, they had unique design's but they where short and fugly.

Wow! Hot Rod making a debut is definently a plus. The new writers involved have me psyched for more Transformers.

@TheRationalNerd - I'm hyped too, been wanting to see Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime in the movies for years. Very awesome news.

@superbigguy32 - How is this awesome news? You posted a picture that looks NOTHING at all how this abomination looks in the movie.

@Luminus - It's still Hot Rod

@superbigguy32 - In name only.

@superbigguy32 - He even has Bumblee's face, which means they just took Cliffjumper's personality (as evidenced by the profile) and called him Hot Rod. It's pathetic.
superbigguy32
superbigguy32 - 8/5/2016, 7:21 AM
@Luminus - I can agree with you on that and I understand you frustration with the design. But I think they were going with an alien look for the robots. I would've liked for them to look like there cartoon counterparts, but I understand why they look the way they do. And probably the reason he looks like Bumblebee is because they said they're suppose to be brothers in arms (I don't understand what that means). But they'll probably tell you in the movie. And I just hope Hot Rod doesn't talk through the radio like Bumblebee.
Luminus
Luminus - 8/5/2016, 11:57 AM
@superbigguy32 - It just means "soldiers fighting together." They seriously thought the G1 Transformers didn't look alien? lol. I doubt that very much.
superbigguy32
superbigguy32 - 8/5/2016, 2:47 PM
@Luminus - Yeah they didn't, but like I said before I understand your frustration and I would've preferred them looking like the Generation 1 versions too.
