Last week, the official social channel for Invincible teased that December would be the last month that we won't have information regarding season two of Prime Video's animated series adaptation. As it turns out, we've been gifted some news a little early.

Collider reports that Season 2 of Invincible is set to arrive on Prime Video in 2023. Confirmation of the release window comes from a recent interview with Vernon Sanders, Head of Television at Amazon Studios.

The publication writes:

"During our interview with Sanders, we asked if he could give us any updates on Season 2 of Invincible. At first, Sanders tried to play coy and told us, “2023 is going to be a great year for people.” However, when we pressed on and asked for a direct confirmation that new episodes would premiere in 2023, Sanders gave us a resounding “yes.” It’s official, then. Invincible is coming back in 2023 for Season 2. "

While fans can look forward to Invincible's return next year, we don't know exactly when the sophomore season will arrive. Season one of the animated series debuted on the streaming service in March of 2021, so it's possible Season 2 could come earlier next year.

Prime Video's Invincible is an adult animated series based on the comic book series of the same name by Robert Kirkman. The series follows 17-year-old Mark Grayson, a Viltrumite and first-born son of Omni-Man, as he learns to harness his newly awakened superhero powers. As the son of the most powerful being on the planet, Mark struggles to develop his powers while balancing his life as a teenager with his new superhero duties. Of course, anyone who watched the first season knows there's a whole lot of other issues that come to light.

Season 1 of Invincible was met with widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. The adaptation was praised for its animation, action sequences, voice acting, and faithfulness to the source material. The series scored a 98% from critics and 92% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes with a critical consensus that reads:

With bold animation, bloody action, and an all-star cast led by the charming Steven Yeun, Invincible smartly adapts its source material without sacrificing its nuanced perspective on the price of superpowers.

The series stars Steven Yeun as Mark Grayson/Invincible, Sandra Oh as Debbie Grayson, and J. K. Simmons as Nolan Grayson/Omni-Man. The cast is rounded out by Gillian Jacobs as Samantha Eve Wilkins/Atom Eve, Andrew Rannells as William Clockwell, Walter Goggins as Cecil Stedman, and Chris Diamantopoulos as Donald Ferguson.

Season 1 of Invincible is currently available on Prime Video with Season 2 set to arrive sometime in 2023. Amazon had already renewed the series for a third season as well.
