We recently found out that True Detective actress Erin Moriarty had been cast as Annie January, a.k.a. Starlight, in Amazon's upcoming adaptation of Garth Ennis Darick Robertson's The Boys, and now we know who'll be playing her teammates in "superhero" team, The Seven.

According to Deadline, Antony Starr (American Gothic) will play team-leader Homelander, Dominique McElligott (The Last Tycoon) will portray conflicted powerhouse Queen Maeve, Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) will bring life to aquatic hero The Deep, Jessie T. Usher (Survivor’s Remorse) will play a speedster named A-Train, and Nathan Mitchell (iZombie) is martial artist Black Noir.

That takes care of The Seven, so let's hope we find out who has been cast as The Female, Mother's Milk, Wee Hughie, Billy Butcher and The Frenchman soon.

The Boys hails from Sony Pictures TV Studios, which will co-produce with Amazon, and Neal H. Moritz’s studio-based Original Films.

The comic was interesting but a bit shocking sometimes.
Gerard Butler for Billy Butcher

Awesome for Anthony Starr! Want him to be either Wolverine or Moon Knight in the MCU, but this is great. He is a badass actor and showed it in Banshee (HIGHLY recommend for those who missed it.)

The comic is pure shock value A LOT, but the concept and characters are genuinely interesting. I enjoyed it.

Yes! Antony Starr getting more work.

He's perfect for the role

@BlackBeltJones - That's what i'm saying! I feel Banshee and his role are severely underrated. Was some of the best TV I watched recently.

@Menks123 - Banshee is in my top 10.

Loved that show. Severely underrated. I think people get lost in the gratuitous sex and gore and think it's this soulless, superficial show. It's got great acting, sharp writing and amazing action. I loved the concept of it from the jump.

I fundamentally dislike this casting. I'll admit I'm unfamiliar with most of these actors, and a lot of you seem to like Antony Starr, but most of them seem unnecessarily young.

I don't understand the need to race swap three separate characters. Making ATrain black I don't have an issue with, but why would you make the Deep white?

and why the hell would you cast a black man to play the clone of a white man?

And, for the record:

Sean Pertwee for Billy Butcher.

@Specialkail1 -
“ Making ATrain black I don't have an issue with, but why would you make the Deep white?”
so its ok to make a white character black but not the other way around?

@JorelEsquire - that's literally not what I said.

Good for Jessie T. Usher. Survivor's Remorse was a very underrated show that was missed by many. Unfortunately Starz chose not to renew it but he was great as Cam Calloway.

Looking forward to checking this show out. If it's anything like Preacher, I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

McElligott has been my back-up Sue Storm since I watched Hell on Wheels...

...but she may be aged out of the butter zone once they get around to her in the MCU...

I enjoyed both seasons 1 and 2 of Preacher but was a bit underwhelmed by the second half of the second season. A bit too much filler for me. Im still down for Rogen and Goldsmith to hell the show but I'm a bit more cautious.

So happy to see all the Banshee love on here!

They should come back with a 6 episode show to wrap things up. I Still have tons of unanswered questions.
