THE BOYS Season 4 Unveils First Look At Susan Heyward As Sister Sage And Valorie Curry As Firecracker

With the fourth season of The Boys now filming, Prime Video has unveiled a first look at Orange Is the New Black‘s Susan Heyward and The Following‘s Valorie Curry as Sister Sage and Firecracker.

The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke recently announced that Orange Is the New Black‘s Susan Heyward and The Following actress Valorie Curry would be joining the currently-shooting fourth season as rookie Supes Sister Sage and Firecracker, respectively, and we now have our first official look at both characters suited-up.

We don't know very much about these ladies, since neither appears in the comic books, but Kripke said at the time that these "new Supes are some of the best & craziest ever written for The Boys. You are going to love them. And by love, I mean be absolutely horrified & a tiny bit nauseous."

Since most Supes in the world of The Boys tend to be self-serving assholes, we're going to assume Sage and Firecracker won't be on the side of Billy Butcher, Hughie and the rest of the gang!

Season 4 plot details are a mystery for now, but we do know that The Walking Dead alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan will be joining the fray in an undisclosed role. We also learned that Cameron Crovertti (Ryan) has been upped to series regular, which is hardly surprising after the sinister final shot of season 3.

During a recent interview with Collider, Kripke confirmed that Ryan will be focal point of the fourth season.

"Moving forward, Ryan is a really important part of it. Both Butcher and Homelander have very good reasons to fight over Ryan because the stakes could not be higher. If Ryan goes Homelander's way and then there are two Homelanders in the world, then that's a nightmare for the planet. If Butcher can get Ryan into the light, then that's probably actually the best weapon they have against Homelander. It's always been a show about family, and so much of Season 3 was about fathers, so I think it makes sense that Season 4 is about sons."

Ryan already seems to have chosen "Homelander's way," but that doesn't mean he's beyond saving. Butcher made a major mistake by pushing the easily-influenced youngster away in the false believe that he'd be safer without such a fatalistic father figure in his life, but this completely backfired when Victoria Neuman gave Homelander his son's location.

@SKetCH - which?

Sage looks cool. A different style for a hero. I like it.

Cracker looks like a generic American Gladiator.

I absolutely loved Valorie Curry on The Tick, though she played the "straight-man" character while everyone else was wild and cartoonish around her. I'm looking forward to seeing her get a chance to play the other side of crazy!

I'm not sure if I was more upset over The Tick getting canceled or that they had a furniture based villain and it wasn't Chairface Chippendale.

@Spock0Clock - It was the B Plot of season 2. Overkill and Dot were after a guy called "The Duke," whose MO was brainwashing people into becoming furniture.

Whole Season 3 was still good, it is starting to feel a bit repetitive.

Hopefully new supes joining The 7 will help.

The first season is still the strongest one. I was going Homelanders more evil turn would have been more of a game changer.

A Trains story could have been interesting but fell flat.

The Deep is super boring now.

Maeve was barely in it and had no character progression.

Noir had some interesting backstory but he’s gone now.

Soldier Boy has an interesting add but I’m not sure what they will do with him.

Starlight wasn’t that interesting but maybe her activist route may beef up.

The Boys - besides Frenchie and Kimiko- weren’t that interesting.

The Victoria Neuman revelation at the end of season 2 didn’t seem to play out in as interesting direction as it could have.

I hope that, at least by the end of season 4, there is a more significant status quo shift or else this will really start feeling stale.

I know. I'm in the minority, but I was disappointed with soldier boy this season. Everything else was pretty good though. Can't wait to see what they add next season

Seems they'll fill in the spots left by Annie/Starlight and Black Noir. Homelander needs to trust in new people beyond just Deep and A-Train given that Maeve also left.
