Late last week, it was revealed that there were plans in place to bring back The Tick on Amazon's online streaming service. The original series aired for only 9 episodes back in 2001, but has since picked up something of a cult following. The original source wasn't the most reliable but now The Wrap have weighed in confirming that Patrick Warburton, "is set to reprise his role as "The Tick" in an Amazon pilot," adding: "Warburton worked out a deal with Sony Television, who have held the rights since the show's 2001 cancellation, to bring back the beloved character as an Amazon pilot." Meanwhile, creator Ben Edlund would also semi confirm the news via his Twitter account as you can see below! You can read the original report - and even watch the 2001 pilot episode of The Tick - by clicking here. Are you guys looking forward to The Tick returning?

Watched the whole series (one season) when it was on Netflix. I don't remember it that well, but it was fun and a good enough series. Could be something of a meta-TV show, parodying superhero tropes and movies. Bring on The Tick!

With the massive fan base and popularity of fire fly, why was it ever canceled? I've only watched some of the pilot on Netflix, seems pretty good. Never saw Serenity.

@MrCBM56: From what I've read, Fox really screwed it up by airing the episodes out of order and just not promoting it properly (meaning the low ratings killed it). Serenity is a gem though, so you need to watch that! It got me REALLY excited about Whedon directing The Avengers...

ugghhhh really. it wasnt bad...but it wasnt great either. Batmanuel was the only memorable thing about it (always loved that he ended up playing the mayor of Gotham in the Dark Knight trilogy)

really dont see why its getting resurrected

YES! It's legit! I am very, very excited right now!

... Though again, Warburton is like a fossil at this point, which is kind of worrying... but the fact that HE'S the one who helped push for the show's revival is a good sign! He wants to be the Tick again! I guess working in that suit wasn't enough to scare him off...
