I love this show. I love the comics. I support making changes, even drastic ones for the sake of the show. But...I honestly do not like the Andrea and Governor storyline. It wasn't poorly introduced. It didn't feel forced at first but...now...its just tiresome. I hate to say this but it makes me want them to kill her off if they don't change things up again. I want her to see The Governor for the devil he is and move on, but if they try and make her a badguy...I'm done with her.

Andrea has fallen for the bad guy twice. She has no sense for anything and her character is completely useless. Best thing that could happen? Daryl shoots her just like she shot him...only Daryl puts it right between her eyes. My exhaustion with Andrea has reached a peak, just kill her character.

god, the comic book andrea is SOOOOO much better, her character in the show is just a danger slut with no sniper skills whatsoever

Daryl and Merle are the only parts of the show better than the comics.

And why is the Governor such a watered down bad guy? In the comics he is so monstrous and wicked; in the show he's more like a corrupt, two-faced politician.

I like the governor character in the series. It's more intense when you aren't quite sure what he's going to do rather than in the comic when you know he's the absolute bad guy and you already know what he's going to do in any situation. In this show you almost get the feeling he's trying to do something right, then he goes off the rails. Makes for a more interesting tv show.

i love this show but i do think the governor has been watered down too much,of course it wasn't gonna be 100% faithful to the comic but he doesn't come across bad enough.

merle has been more of a bastard than the governor,if you look what he did to glen the governor should of been more like that.

@marvel72 - I respectfully disagree. There is something in way the actor is protraying him that you can see the sociopath. His ability to turn from charming and gentle to absolutly ruthless and uncaring is scary as h*ll. You never know "which" Phillip aka Govenor you are going to get. My wife and I were biting our nails when he said he would talk to Maggie and his "power play" was just sick. He let her know that any time he could have his way and there is nothing she could do. It almost worst then just doing it. Now she is having to wait on when or if it will happen. That is a complete b*stard right there. I continue to enjoy the show, Bring on Tyrese and Negan (and Lucille) at some point

Once again it's a case of comic fans wanting to see direct translations which would not work for film/tv. If Morrisey played that character like he was in the comics, it would be too OTT. It would come across too mustache twirling, what he's doing is much more subtle with shades of grey there and it works much better than if he was just an out-and-out savage monster.

Nooo, why do they keep doing that to us. "Mid-season finale". Why don't you just fess up and say, season 4 finale, since the first season was only like 5/6 episodes anyway. AMC is driving me crazy. Not only that, but they won't upload the first half of Season 3 to Netflix for people until the "season 4" comes on. Ugh.

I don't think they're watering down The Governor's character...they're just giving him more of a story, like what they did with Shane. In the comics, Rick, Michonne and Glenn got to Woodbury and within 3 or 4 pages of the comics, The Governor turned on them and his evilness came out. In the show, it looks like they're slowly building up his evil, which to me is more exciting. We haven't seen the TRUE Governor yet which is making for good writing and good TV. I think next week we will begin to see the beginning of his true evilness. Morrisey is playing him awesome...very sly, calm, slick but with a side to him that has yet to come out...and that's a very, scary person. I actually like this version better than the comics cause he's wearing the-mr nice-guy face right now with shades of evil there but has yet to release his full wrath. What's that old saying? It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for..and he's been REAL quiet up to this point.

As for Andrea, I love Laurie Holden...gorgeous. But hate the storyline of her hooking up with the Governor. Why they went that route is beyond me. It's the only thing dragging down the show. Judging by that photo of her above with her pointing the gun at something, it looks like they're about to change that around...hopefully to her seeing the Governor for his true colors. My guess is, and theory, is they'll do the Governor/Michonne storyline faithful to the comics, have Andrea find out what he's up to and SHE'S the one that does to the Governor what Michonne did in the comics and rescues Rick and Michonne and the rest of them. Only a guess, but can't wait t find out...getting good.

I think last night's episode confirmed it for me. This is NOT the same Governor as from the comic; and for that, I'm thankful.

It does however make me think of how they're going to interpret Negan... AND Lucille.
