We've known since New York Comic Con that a character from The Walking Dead would crossover with its spin-off Fear the Walking Dead, and thanks to last night's episode of "Talking Dead" we now know that character is Morgan Jones, played by Lennie James.

James is set to become a series regular on Fear the Walking Dead, and today AMC released the first photos of Lennie James on the set of the show which is currently shootings its fourth season in Austin, Texas.

The photos show James at a table read alongside Fear the Walking Dead co-stars Colman Domingo, Frank Dillane, and Alycia Debnam-Carey, as well as the actor with showrunners Andrew Chambliss and Ian Golberg. Additionally, AMC has also released a video with James - his first day on the set of Fear the Walking Dead - addressing the big move.

“To take Morgan into this new realm and landscape, to see who he could now be, to see where his story could go in the world of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is wonderfully exciting and I am really looking forward to the challenge,” James said of the move. “My time on ‘The Walking Dead’ has been a blessing and one of the top working and personal experiences of my life. That cast and crew will have my love, my respect and my deep gratitude until the end of my days.”

@Sulti1274 - yeahhh... I’m just not digging this new costume at all. I thought the CW look was perfection.

I sometimes get annoyed at Marvel changing their characters looks EVERY single movie. But it’s cool. Movie looks dope.

So, I'm probably 3 or 4 episodes behind on this season but have it backed up on the home receiver. Also, I don't watch Fear TWD. Doesn't it take place before the events of TWD? So, is this Morgan that will appear in Season 4 of FTWD what Morgan was doing when he was absent on TWD? Will it end with him meeting the baker with the bo staff? Or is FTWD taking place at the same time as TWD, therefore he has to leave TWD and ends up on FTWD??? confused here. Please help.

I’m of going he opinion that Fear has been steadily improving while Dead has been steadily declining. So much so that Fear is now my new zombie show fix. It’s actually VERY, and surprisingly, good.
Excited for season 4; hopefully the new show runners keep the momentum and quality up.
Morgan’s inclusion is.....weird. So far. We’ll see.

'To take Morgan into this new realm and landscape, to see who he could now be, to see where his story could go in the world of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is wonderfully exciting and I am really looking forward to the challenge'

By the sound of what he's saying, it seems Morgan won't be getting killed off on The Walking Dead and he'll depart the show for Fear The Walking Dead. This must mean that there will be at least a two year time-jump for the FTWD characters when they're in Austin, Texas. My best bet is that Rick makes the decision to spare Negan and the Saviours, like in the comics, and Morgan is extremely unhappy with that so he abandons Rick and heads west, then encounters the Fear cast and his story continues from there.

If this is the case, then I'm happy Morgan isn't getting killed off and it could work in boosting ratings with Morgan as the main leading character alongside Madison. But honestly this just seems like a rushed, non-thought out idea from Gimple that is going to deprave Fear of so much character development for its cast with the two-year jump and taking away what makes it a great show in TWD universe with it being set right at the start of the apocalypse.

Like I said no the other thread, it made much more sense for the crossover character to have been Abraham, especially given that we now know that FTWD are shooting in Austin, Texas, where Abraham lived at the start of the apocalypse, and Season Three of FTWD ended at the same chronological point that Rick woke up from his coma. Perhaps this is a bit of misdirection from Gimple and AMC - We'll see Abraham appear in FTWD, but it won't be for long, then we'll get the time jump and Morgan will appear. One can only hope.
