Doctor Who and Kidulthood star Noel Clarke has been charged with multiple sexual offences following a Metropolitan Police investigation.

The UK's Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed on Wednesday that prosecutors had authorised the Metropolitan Police to charge the 50-year-old actor, writer, producer and director.

Clarke, who lives in Kensington, west London, faces two counts of sexual assault, three counts of voyeurism and one count of exposure. The charges relate to five women and concern alleged offences said to have taken place between 2007 and 2016. The actor has not publicly commented on the charges, but previously denied any wrongdoing when accusations first surfaced.

According to the CPS, prosecutors reviewed a file of evidence submitted by detectives before determining that there was sufficient evidence for the case to proceed and that prosecution was in the public interest.

"Our prosecutors have worked to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring this case to court and that it is in the public interest to do so," the CPS said in a statement.

The Metropolitan Police investigation began a year ago, with a man who was then in his 40s first arrested in connection with the case on September 25, 2025. Following the investigation, detectives submitted their evidence to the CPS, which subsequently authorised the charges against Clarke. He is due to appear before Westminster Magistrates' Court on October 21.

Detective Superintendent Mike Cagney, whose team is overseeing the investigation, said the women connected to the charges continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

"The women connected to these charges continue to receive support from specially trained officers," Cagney said. "We urge anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault to contact police. The information you provide will be dealt with in the utmost sensitivity and we have trained investigators on hand to support you."

Clarke became widely known to genre fans through his role as Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, debuting alongside Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor before continuing opposite David Tennant's Tenth Doctor. He appeared in the BBC series between 2005 and 2010. It was previously alleged that the actor touched women inappropriately or made sexual remarks while working on the sci-fi series.

Away from Doctor Who, Clarke established himself as a filmmaker as well as an actor, with credits including Kidulthood, Adulthood, and Brotherhood. He has also worked extensively behind the camera as a writer, producer and director.

The charges against Clarke are allegations, and he has not yet publicly responded to the case. His appearance at Westminster Magistrates' Court will be the next stage in the proceedings, and if he is ultimately found guilty, then the actor is likely facing serious prison time.

It truly sucks that he & John Barrowman have both turned out to be such creeps considering how much I liked both their Doctor Who characters (aswell as being a fan of the latter in general) in Mickey Smith and Captain Jack Harkness…

That is the dumbest shit.
Look, someone does something and is caught or turned in within a year? yeah. Justice should be served.

@AgentofSH1ELD - There's guys who've been locked up for he said/she said bullshit that was 30+ years old, with NO proof, no DNA, no witnesses, no survelliance video etc.

I'm not saying all those guys are not guilty, but there has to be a limit on how far back they can go to prosecute unless there is concrete evidence, rather than just some person's word decades later.
TheFinestSmack
TheFinestSmack - 9/11/2026, 8:05 AM
@Feralwookiee - There is usually a limit defined by statute of limitation laws that differ from state to state. No idea what those limits are in the UK though.
Feralwookiee
Feralwookiee - 9/11/2026, 9:07 AM
@TheFinestSmack - True. There are a few states, like Maryland for example, that have NO statute of limitation on alledged sexual assualts, which to me, is a little ridiculous.

If a person isn't gonna bring charges within a few years, I'd say that's it.

Every interview I've seen him mention to previous claims he's drawn back to how hes never been charged. Guess this changes his argument there.
