ARROW Executive Producers Talking With DC Comics About The Suicide Squad

A.R.G.U.S. has played a significant role in recent episodes of The CW's Arrow so it's only natural that discussion turns to Amanda Waller and The Suicide Squad. Will they pop-up during Season Two?

Arrow is winding down, the first season is nearing its conclusion. As we move forward, the show's executive producers have been allowing themselves to talk about future seasons as Arrow has become The CW's #1 show. Names like, The Question, Ted Kord, Nightwing and a few others have been discussed with the showrunners admitting that some are more likely to cameo than others. In a new interview with Andrew Kreisberg, another DC Comics fan favorite is name-dropped for a possible appearance in future episodes.

With A.R.G.U.S., a rather new creation of The New 52 from Geoff Johns and Gene Ha (think Checkmate) figuring prominently in the past few episodes, it's only a matter of time before Amanda Waller and The Suicide Squad show up, right? Said Kreisberg on the subject, "The Suicide Squad is definitely something we've discussed with DC Comics. There's no definitive plans right now to introduce Amanda Waller, but certainly we carefully chose A.R.G.U.S. and did not make Lyla Michaels work for the FBI or CIA. A.R.G.U.S. is the S.H.I.E.L.D. of the DC Universe, and it felt like a fun thing to introduce into our world. And we hope it'll play a bigger role in Season 2."

The current roster of The Suicide Squad features one name that has already appeared on Arrow, Deadshot and also includes the likes of Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Black Spider and El Diablo. Classic members of the supervillain vigilante group include Count Vertigo, The Electrocutioner, Plastique, Bronze Tiger and a host of others. Most of the past members of the group would fit the show's motif of non-powered DC characters. As far as the television show goes, a lot of mystery remains about A.R.G.U.S. and just exactly what it is they do but as Kreisberg stated above, they're likely going to play a bigger role next season. Could Arrow be forced to join the team or will he be trying to stop them?
