DC COMICS’ VILLAIN DEATHSTROKE APPEARS ON THE ISLAND WITH OLIVER — After Detective Lance (Paul Blackthorne) arrests Oliver (Stephen Amell) for murder, Oliver tells Moira (Susanna Thompson) the only lawyer he’ll allow to represent him is Laurel (Katie Cassidy). Laurel takes the case which puts her at odds with her father. Oliver offers to take a polygraph in front Detective Lance but things get tense when Lance asks him if anyone else was on the island with him. Oliver flashes back to when he got his first scar, courtesy of Deathstroke (guest star Jeffrey Robinson). Colin Donnell, David Ramsey and Willa Holland also star. Michael Shultz directed the episode written by Wendy Mericle & Ben Sokolowski.

Smallville has NOTHING to do with Arrow.

Cannot wait for Deathstroke to be on Arrow... I'm one of the few who enjoyed him on Smallville, but this interpretation is going to be much more accurate, and bad ass! Will always love Slade on Teen Titans the most, but if this comes anywhere even close to that, I will be happy. Can't wait...

@ TheCrisisKing

Well, Teen Titans had "Slade", Smallville had "General Slade Wilson" who was "immune to death's stroke". This is the first small screen appearance of "Deathstroke" in full. (Though Teen Titan's version was a hell of a lot closer than Smallville's)

Interesting, but I'm worried they are bringing out all the big guns too early.

What JoshW SHOULD HAVE SAID was that this will mark the LIVE ACTION debut of Deathstroke. Smallville's version was NOT the real Deathstroke. It was lame. It was John McCain with a [frick]ing brick on his eye (not even a damn eyepatch)

The Smallville version was a badass character, but it wasn't the "true" Deathstroke.

Just because you guys don't like an interpretation of a character does not mean it isn't them. The character on Smallville (and teen titans) WAS Slade Wilson aka Deathstroke, Weather he was a good interpretation or not.

Another interesting episode next week, it looks like...but like Shadowelfz, I'm worried they're playing their best cards too early. Deathstroke and Deadshot are just about the toughest bastards you can get in a show like this. Still, it might be that this is just the start of a long Deathstroke build-up, essentially a cameo to set the stage for his appearance in the finale or whatever.

More troubling is this arrest. Obviously he'll get off, but it seems a bit too early for suspicion to already have been cast on Oliver. Past this point, it's going to be harder and harder to explain why no one is reconsidering him as a potential GA, unless he ends the episode faking wheelchair confinement or something...

So why does everyone diss on smallville?? It's one of the best shows there were on tv and an excellan portrayal of Clark Kent going through the trials of becoming superman just cuz of the lame cgi outfit doesnt mean u need to hate the whole series.

I loved Smallville but they really messed up Deathstroke on that show, infact I think Michael ?hogan is an awful actor so I'm hoping Arrow does Deathstroke justic, looking at the preview first impressions look good.

@ darkmetal Smallville was great until season 4 ended. Then when Lex left it became terrible. Terrible writing. The show became boring and corny. I mean it was literally 41 minutes of talking and 30 secs of Clark running at super speed before it was over. Plus they took great characters like Deathstroke and turned him into a fat old general, who was anything but bad ass. Plus we waited 10 years to see Clark in full costume and they copped out on that. Then on his first flight he moved a planet. The show should've ended after season 4. Or the Justice League episode. It added so much that shouldn't have happened until after Clark was Superman, like Lex finding out about Clark, and in the end they copped out of that. The show was one full of copouts.

More than likely, the bodyguard that Oliver has recruited as his new partner will show up in the "green hood" while Oliver is in custody, or at least surrounded by people. Since he can't be in two places at once, they'll have to conclude that Oliver isn't Arrow. They did the same thing once with BatMan where Alfred donned the cowl in front of Bruce and a group of people. Classic misdirection.
And despite my total allegiance to Marvel, I admit that I have really enjoyed this show, so far. It is well done, IMO but I am unfamiliar with the source material, so can watch it with fresh perspective and not be 'tainted' by cannon.
