ARROW Showrunner Says Black Siren Is Out For Revenge In Season 7; Teases Her Dynamic With Black Canary

The Arrow Season 6 finale saw Oliver Queen's life change in a big way, but it also saw Black Siren experience loss, and that heartbreaking moment will motivate Laurel Lance in the upcoming seventh season.

Last season, Katie Cassidy's Black Siren towed the line between hero and villain, with Quentin Lance often acting as a conscience of sorts. However, as Diaz spiraled out of control, Earth 2's Laurel Lance found herself leaning more towards the light side.

But while many fans have speculated that Quentin's sacrifice in the Season 6 finale may lead Laurel down a more heroic path, the character didn't get much time to process the event before the episode wrapped.

As a result, audiences will have to wait for Arrow's return this fall to see the full effect of her father's passing. And according to showrunner Beth Schwartz, his death will drive Black Siren to get revenge.

"What we loved about Katie and the character from last year is that you never really know which side she's on. Is she good? Is she bad? She falls somewhere in between. And so this year, with Lance's death -- which was really sad, I'm still not over it -- she has a lot. You know, she's pissed. She's pissed at Diaz, so she has a grudge. And so we're gonna see her dealing with that. . . . Yeah, she's gonna play between good and bad again, and we're gonna see how that affects her when she wants to get revenge for Lance's death."

It definitely sounds like fans won't see the former villain suddenly behave altruistically, but Laurel will try to take down Diaz as she seeks vengeance, much like Black Canary did last season.

Speaking of whom, the evolving relationship between Dinah Drake and Laurel Lance was also teased by Schwartz: "You know, they are still definitely at odds, but yeah, there is going to be a shift there, for sure."

So, what do you folks think? Are you excited to see what Black Siren does in the seventh season of Arrow? Make sure to share your thoughts below.

I find it all to funny that the writers are finally trying to apologize for butchering Black canary.

I never watched the season finale. I felt like after a great season with Prometheus, this past season just felt week. It was hard to keep engaged. I love Arrow but this season felt like a let down. I wasn’t a fan of the whole civil war thing since the new time seem like a bunch of whiners.

Can't get into the arrowverse anymore. Still it's pretty okay all things considered.

It was a big mistake introducing a new Canary. They should have kept Laurel. Black Siren is the only thing interesting left in this show.

Obviously Laurel should never have been killed off, and I still don't really dig the whole concept of an other-world Laurel considering Quentin to be her actual father, but other than that Black Siren's character was pretty cool in Season Six.

The only changes to the Team Arrow dynamic I want in Season Seven is for Wild-Dog and Mister Terrific to be wrote out and replaced with Nyssa al Ghul and Huntress from Season One. That'd be a much better Team.

Man, I feel bad for Katie Cassidy. She never knows who she'll be playing.
