...And then there were seven.
Hope was all but lost tonight as the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) managed to infiltrate the Waverider via an unexpected vessel in Harbinger (Audrey Marie Anderson), and succeeded in his plan to destroy the entire multiverse as Earth-1 finally fell. He also came dangerously close to wiping out the seven chosen Paragons, but, thanks to a timely assist from Pariah (Tom Cavanagh), they were rescued and sent to a place located outside the confines of time: the Vanishing Point.
However, while it looked like the seven had escaped relatively unscathed, there was one last heartbreaking twist in store for us as Kingdom Come Superman (Brandon Routh) met his end when the dastardly Lex Luthor (Jon Cryer) used the Book of Destiny to trade places with the Man of Steel, leaving Superman dead and Lex as one of the last seven people alive in the entire DC multiverse.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait until January 14th for the epic two-part conclusion, but it does look like the seven Paragons will get some much-needed assistance in their final battle from none other than Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who, if tonight's episode was any indicator, seems to have adopted the mantle of The Spectre.
As for the cameos, there were a few more big - if not entirely unexpected - ones as we saw Ashley Scott and Dina Meyer (voice) reprise their roles from
Birds of Prey, Cress Williams make his official Arrowverse debut as
Black Lightning, Osric Chau introduced as Ryan Choi, Stephen Lobo as Jim Corrigan and, of course, the Devil himself as Tom Ellis did indeed appear as
Lucifer.

Meanwhile, Iris (Candice Patton) has a heart-to-heart with Ryan Choi (guest star Osric Chau), while Oliver (guest star Stephen Amell) and Diggle (guest star David Ramsey) return to an old familiar stomping ground.
