Smallville had a lengthy, mostly well-received run, and while the finale was extremely controversial due to Tom Welling decision to not fully don Superman's costume, there's a lot of excitement surrounding the fact that we're getting to revisit that world in The CW's
Crisis on Infinite Earth's crossover.
"One of the things that we said very, very early on in the pitches to the studio and the network is that this can’t be ‘Crisis on CW Earths,’" executive producer Marc Guggenheim explained in a recent interview with
EW about the event.
"This has to be ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths,’ and we have to touch as many strands of the DC tapestry as possible."
Needless to say, stepping back into the roles of Clark Kent and Lois Lane must have been strange for Welling and Erica Durance, and the latter has now shed some light on where we find their characters.
"It’s a little bit of a look into their future and the different choices they’ve made to be together," she tells the site.
"It’s a full-circle moment that’s really nice."
