We recently got our first glimpse of Ruby Rose as Batwoman, and now we have an official look at Designated Survivor actor LaMonica Garrett as Elseworlds' Mar-Novu, aka The Monitor.

This take on DC's multiversal observer is described as “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power,” and while we're still not certain what role he'll play in this year's Arrowverse crossover event, it's a safe bet that he'll have a hand in whatever reality-bending adventures our heroes get caught up in.

If the book The Monitor is holding looks familiar, it's because it appears to be the same tome black-suit Superman was reading in these recent set photos.

Check out the pic below along with another recent BTS shot of Batwoman and let us know what you think.

The Elseworlds Arrowverse crossover begins Sunday, Dec. 9 with The Flash at 8 p.m., then continues on Monday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. with Arrow, and concludes with Supergirl on Tuesday the 11th at 8 p.m.

For being a near direct adaption of a really goofy looking character......it actually looks pretty damn good. I like it

LaMonica Garrett looks great! I also like how the suit has the same design as the Anti-Monitor's.

Novemeber will start to kick into high gear the promos for this.

I wonder if that's the book from Morrison's Superman Beyond during Final Crisis. Superman used a book that contained every book ever written.

@beane2099 - How's that, now?

@Luminus - Superman and a bunch of other Superman's ended up in Limbo, which had a library that had only one book. It contained every book ever written. It has something to do with the Monitors. They used the book to find the repair manual for their ship. But evil Superman and Mandrak, the vampire Monitor, used it for something else. That's Morrison for you. But since this involves the monitor maybe that's the book He's holding and that Superman tries to use. Or maybe it's something completely different. Just a thought.

@beane2099 - So the book is the Internet? That makes sense, then.

The costumes on this crossover event are consistently the best the CW has ever done.

Krypton will definitely be involved given the background is from Supergirl's pilot when Clark and Kara were sent out in their pods.

And also even though I've already seen her pic the Batwoman suit is great. They need to greenlit her show and see what else they can do with the characters if they are being this level of accurate.

@NinnesMBC - What? Who said Krypton is connected?
