OLIVER QUEEN HIMSELF, ARROW STAR STEPHEN AMELL, TO SERVE AS MASTER OF CEREMONIES AS WARNER BROS. TELEVISION PRESENTS A NIGHT OF DC ENTERTAINMENT, SATURDAY, JULY 26, AT COMIC-CON 2014

Three-Hour Event (8:00–11:00 p.m.) in Hall H Features the World Premiere of Gotham,
Complete Pilot Screening of The Flash and Exclusive Footage From New Series Constantine and Season Three of Arrow.

BURBANK, Calif. (July 8, 2014) — While it may be possible to throw a great party without the assistance and backing of a billionaire playboy, Warner Bros. Television (WBTV) and DC Entertainment (DCE) are taking no chances, with Starling City’s favorite vigilante-turned-hero stepping out of the shadows and into the limelight, temporarily putting down his bow in favor of picking up a mic: Arrow star Stephen Amell (Twitter: @amellywood) has been tapped to serve as master of ceremonies when Warner Bros. Television Presents A Night of DC Entertainment on Saturday night, July 26, at Comic-Con 2014.

As previously announced, WBTV and DC Entertainment are teaming up for a three-hour (8:00–11:00 p.m.) special event in Hall H designed for DC Comics fans and featuring some of DC Comics’ greatest characters. Amell will preside over the world premiere screening of Gotham and the complete pilot screening of The Flash, and will give fans a look at footage from the Constantine pilot and a sneak peek at season three of Arrow. He will also introduce select stars and producers from each of the four series.

In Arrow, Stephen Amell plays Oliver Queen, who returned home to Starling City after being gone for five years, during which time he suffered unimaginable ordeals. With a mysterious agenda and armed with a new set of skills, Oliver moonlights as the Arrow, a crime-fighting hero looking to clean up the streets of his city. Joined by his team — John Diggle (David Ramsey), Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) and Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) — Oliver protects the people he loves, becoming a beacon of hope for the city’s most vulnerable, and a weapon of justice against those who prey upon them. Arrow returns for season three on October 8, airing Wednesdays at 8/7c on The CW.

Definitely not the announcement many Arrow fans around here were hoping for, but still cool nonetheless. With these four shows sharing a panel, there's obviously some form of network collaboration already underway. Perhaps, the big announcement will be that all four shows will be connected (Unlikely, but a fan can dream!)? But Amell, hint that he's going to another city leads me to believe that something is afoot. On the DCCU front, Amell quickly dissuaded any notions that the big announcement was going to be his inclusion in Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice so perhaps it's time the fans let that idea die a quiet, dignified death.

On the actual panel, I'm guessing we're going to have some major announcements for each show revealed, most likely some DC cameos and guest stars that are still a mystery.  After all, we still don't know who the main villain of Arrow season three will be.

I think the tv side of DC will have their own Justice League, much like in the new 52.

Can't believe they are not doing anything with BvS or even the Justice League, but then they may have left that out for a surprise during the con, be cool if they did.

Guess I'm putting Amell on my "never believe any hype talk from this person" list.

Amell is being groomed to stand side by side with Superman and Batman in Justice League OR
this is his consolation prize for being involved with and the star of something that actually resembles a DC comic brought to life.(as far as tv goes)

It has already been stated that the TV and Cinema will be separate universes, as a kin to Earth One and Earth 2 ( Which is actually what I wanted ). But it does seem that all DC TV shows will be linked, regardless of network. I recall seeing this done previously with 2 other shows on different networks, though I forget the shows. Though Gotham would be a bit tricky to be included, being as Batman existed before Arrow as indicated by the appearance of Harley Quinn.

Whatever...arrow is ok? I loved the Flash intro episodes but other than that it just seems like a better funded and slightly better written smallville. DC is missing an opportunity putting him and flash (tv versions) in their movie-verse...IMO. Also, why are they establishing arrow as the batman figure? It seems like they're even shoehorning all of Bats villains in the show? Wtf is Batman?

I'd be fine if they don;t connect. Doesn't make me enjoy either product any less. Not everything has to be connected to be good! I mean, so far let's look at the one show that is connected to a film universe, Agents of SHIELD... remember how GREAT those first 15 episodes were?

I'm just tired of people wanting every single thing to be connected. So what, because they aren't connected this show or movie franchise you like means nothing? Please pull your head out of your ass.

I think what it is - Fans want Flash and Green Arrow in the movie team up(at least Flash) so it becomes natural to wonder why have 2 Barry Allens ? of course for all we know it could be Wally West in the movie and the wanting becomes a dead issue.

I bet Brandon Routh walks out on stage as part of this event. I could see Constantine being part of the DC television universe because it has its own corner of the DCU (That being the supernatural) to explore so the writers don't have to get tied down having to coordinate with ARROW and The FLASH. GOTHAM could work I suppose, since its in the past.
They could drop a mention of Starling City or Robert Queen just to tie everything together.

ARROW can tie things together by having Batman villains and supporting characters (Nightwing) on its show and mention certain events from GOTHAM as past events. This would in effect put Batman in the Arrow verse,we just wouldn't ever see him because the character is reserved for the movies.

I can see a form of the Justice League coming together on t.v. that would include Green Arrow,The Flash and the Hal Jordan Green Lantern from the 2011 film since it was produced by the same team that is now on Arrow and The Flash.
You can add on Nightwing, the Huntress,The Atom and maybe Hourman and Hawkman to the mix.

They should just [frick] everyone over and make it a 3 hour BvS: DoJ panel. Then at the end have people standing at the door with DVDs that have the Flash pilot, Constantine pilot, and Arrow Season 3 clips on them. 2 of the 3 have already been leaked so it wouldn't matter about it leaking again. Then they could officially release an arrow Season 3 clip and beat the Hall H goers to it. In Hall H they show footage, WW's costume, and have the entire JL cast come out on stage. Oh yeah they also announce that BvS comes out on it's original date (Where Ant-Man now is so it can crush the bug) and JL is coming out on the May 2016 date against Captain America.

DC will rule the [frick]ing world.

@Mankzin2:

When was it OFFICIALLY stated that the DC TV and movies won't connect?

Amell coyly stated that both he and Justin as Flash are the definitive representations of their respective characters for the DCU.

Anyways, I love what DC is doing with their TV material. I personally believe that the DCCU will connect both TV and the movies.
SAMURAI36
SAMURAI36 - 7/8/2014, 2:55 PM
I honestly don't think that Gotham will fit into the DCCU, given its place in the past. But there's no reason that Flash, Arrow, and Constantine can't/won't fit.

I don't understand why people have yet to notice that amount get every rumored JL member for the movies, we have had not one character from the TV shows announced or even rumored yet. Not even a rumored Flash casting.

Why do you "they aren't connected" proponents think that is? Smh

Amanda Waller is rumored for BvS though.

I would be cool if they if Stephen Smell and Grant Gustin showed up at the end of BVS, talk about a shocker to everyone. I think we will get our first glimpse of the Trinity together in costume. A nice little teaser trailer. Then a couple of months from now, say in November we get a nice teaser attached to some movie from WB. A very short teaser I'm thinking.

Why would Henry Cavill and Brandon Routh sharing screen time be an issue? It's not like they're the same character anymore. Even so, The Atom sharing screen with the JL will probably mean he's in costume the whole time. Really won't be a big deal
