While the return of Katana in the present day was shocking enough, the wording used here by Maseo ("I asked her to come here...so she could bring you back to life") is particularly interesting. His wounds appeared to be far too severe to be brought back by conventional means, so is Arrow about to introduce some mystical elements? Ra's al Ghul has already indicated that he's hundreds of years old, so perhaps Katana had access to a Lazarus Pit? Share your theories below.

I think it was a pretty lame-ass weak ending, but that's just me.

I miss Season 2 of Arrow. Don't get me wrong S3 is still great (just like S1), but Season 2 was out of this world good. Slade was a big part of that, so looking forward to Manu's return.

Not really surprising at all. The story from the past always serves to set things up in the current narrative. Obviously that guy was going to be part of things, and the second we saw him with the League, it was clear he'd end up helping Oliver at some point. Also since we're dealing with Ra's al Ghul, everybody on this site should have known exactly how Oliver would be saved. Average TV viewers might end up thinking it's bullshit magic, but we all know it's firmly established comic book "science"..

I would've wanted her as Katana...

...but she's playing a new character in Batman v Superman. I'm wondering if she'll get any action scenes.

was it surprising? Yes. Was it awesome? No.
I don't get why you kill off the main character and bring him back the following episode. Plus, why avoid the Lazarus pit?

I kind of wish that following his death there would've been 1-3 episoded with Oliver only in the flashbacks. Then give him a suprise entrance at a dramatic point (cliffhanger at the end of an episode) and after that show us in flashbacks how he got from being at least three times dead (stab wound, fall, temperature) to being back in action.

And I'm really curious about whatever it was that brought him back.

So, if Oliver was brought back to life, nu fuss, why not do the same thing with Sara?

Freezing cold.
Fatal wound with sword.
Fatal fall from a cliff.
And all this is cured a dead body with mystical herbs?
WTF!?
Lazarus pit, if not put, was better didn't bring Ra's Al Ghul.

The issue is, they've kind of ruined the show. If people can be revived from stab wound, a massive fall, and freezing temperatures then why should i care about the future of the show?

Either you introduce the Lazarus pit and emphasise its the only one, destroying it shortly after, or the show's tension is ruined. If character can be revived because plot, especially so soon after his death then thats just pathetic writing.

Its the same thing that happened in Sherlock and The Dark Knight Rises. We never got enough time away from the character to accept he was dead, we needed longer than an episode.

Relax people. They're still doing their version of the Lazarus pit. They just haven't revealed it yet, because it's part of the flashback plot. I'm betting that the Omega/Alpha weapons are connected to the herbs that are used to make mirakuru.
What I'm hoping is that the Omega and Alpha are two halves of an old recipe. One heals, one kills, and together they make a supersoldier.

Oh so its ok for Josh to post illegal copyrighted clips of episodes but when I do it my post gets removed.

I was kinda dissapointed: it could have been better if we didn't see Oliver at all during the episode. Just the end was enough. And I really hope he was dead and not "almost dead but we're using this word because it's cool".

Another week, another episode of Arrow that paled in comparison to The Flash.

In what way was this shocking? If they used the Lazarus pits maybe, but as it stands, this is literally what everyone expected to happen.

Arrow sucks this season.

It was that Serum in the Flashbacks that saved/brought him Bacck
Or just Katana doing some shit with magical herbs.

@calin88 - "So, if Oliver was brought back to life, nu fuss, why not do the same thing with Sara?"

Nyssa could've taken Sara's body and asked her dad to use the Lazarus Pit or used it without his permission.

Now Oliver can be like hey, my friend died a month ago or so can you bring her back??

Bringing a character back to life sets a precedent you sometimes don't want to set. The next time a character dies, we won't fully accept they're dead and gone for good because of whatever methods brought Oliver back and/or the Lazarus Pit.

Man, y'all are ridiculous lol. We don't even know the circumstances around ollie's revival and it sucks? No one takes this site seriously anymore, cause most of what you guys do is complain. Off to batman news....that site's way better, comments are too.

It's stupid. The show has no tension, no build up, no mystery. I knew who was gonna be the one helping him and that his wife was gonna do some shit to bring him back. They could have done an amazing build up for the rest of the season where you don't knkw how oliver is coming back or when. Introduce the Lazarus Pit and get some real revenge on in the season finale. This is weak as shit.
