Stephen Amell, the man who plays Green Arrow on the Arrow TV series, is attempting to grow a beard that would give him the iconic look. It’s one of the main things missing from the character, so we’re glad to hear that Amell is hoping to make a change.

Growing the perfect Green Arrow goatee isn’t easy, and as it stands, Stephen Amell is realizing this himself. The actor posted on Twitter that is planned beard, at the moment, have him looking more like Thanos than anything else.

During a convention back in May, Amell made it clear to the audience that his character will sport the legendary goatee in the new season.

“Just because you’ve been polite, and just because everyone has been so nice to me today, I can break some news for you and let you know that in Season Seven I am going to debut the goatee.”

When it comes down to the hat, then, don’t expect Amell to wear the hat, well, at least not for now.

“I can’t promise that I’m going to keep [the goatee] forever,” according to Amell. “I can definitely promise that I’m not going to wear the stupid hat.”

It should be interesting to see how the writers handle the character now that the secret is out of the bag. Everyone knows Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow, and eventually, he’ll have to suit up again.

We doubt he’ll be able to walk around in public as Oliver Queen without drawing fire. Then again, he could very well follow Iron Man’s lead.
