Stephen Amell Is Having Problems Growing the GREEN ARROW Goatee

The goatee is one of the things that set Green Arrow apart from other heroes, but ever since Stephen Amelll brought the character to life, fans have yet to see the goatee in action.

Stephen Amell, the man who plays Green Arrow on the Arrow TV series, is attempting to grow a beard that would give him the iconic look. It’s one of the main things missing from the character, so we’re glad to hear that Amell is hoping to make a change.

Growing the perfect Green Arrow goatee isn’t easy, and as it stands, Stephen Amell is realizing this himself. The actor posted on Twitter that is planned beard, at the moment, have him looking more like Thanos than anything else.

During a convention back in May, Amell made it clear to the audience that his character will sport the legendary goatee in the new season.

“Just because you’ve been polite, and just because everyone has been so nice to me today, I can break some news for you and let you know that in Season Seven I am going to debut the goatee.”

When it comes down to the hat, then, don’t expect Amell to wear the hat, well, at least not for now.

“I can’t promise that I’m going to keep [the goatee] forever,” according to Amell. “I can definitely promise that I’m not going to wear the stupid hat.”

It should be interesting to see how the writers handle the character now that the secret is out of the bag. Everyone knows Oliver Queen is the Green Arrow, and eventually, he’ll have to suit up again.

We doubt he’ll be able to walk around in public as Oliver Queen without drawing fire. Then again, he could very well follow Iron Man’s lead.

@sKeemAn - That’s just freaky. I had no idea that was a real person until the animation started on the gif. I thought it was a drawing.

I kinda wanna see the hat. But I can't help but feel like he'll look like an extra from Robin Hood: Men in Tights

@L0RDbuckethead - yeah. I just feel like the hat would push him to being too much like Robin hood, which is something they've been trying to avoid since day 1. Not to mention it just wouldn't make sense from a character perspective since they wrote him as more of a military minded superhero and the hat just seems too illogical. At least the hood helps with covering his identity. But a hat isn't gonna do anything other than most likely getting knocked off while doing all those acrobatics.

Just add it with CGI,if they can remove one surely they can add one.

Oh wait they don't know how to remove one, look at Superman in Justice League.

@marvel72 - bad jokes aside, adding facial hair is supposed to be easier then removing it (hence Warner brothers trying to make that deal to add it in mission impossible) but I also dont know about that on a TV budget, since that would be constant cgi during scenes hes just standing there talking.

Honestly, the beard only makes sense in a world where everyone DOES know his identity. It's a pretty unique beard, after all, and not hidden at all.
