Reminding fans that in just a few weeks Batwoman will be joining the DCEU lineup, the CW released a new teaser for its upcoming series starring Ruby Rose.

The teaser sees Rose's Kate Kane embrace the mantle of Gotham's new vigilante, ready to play by her own rules. The upcoming series sees Kane return to Gotham three years after the mysterious disappearance of Batman. WIth the city overrun by crime activity, Kane will it upon herself to restore Gotham.

In the teaser, we see Kane discover the Batcave and suit up in the cape and cowl.

Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

Batwoman was actually introduced in last year's Elseworld crossover, but the series itself is set to premiere on Sunday, October 6 on The CW.

This opens the same weekend as Joker, that's some [frick]ing weird brand synergy. Like, they couldn't be further apart despite both being Batman spin-offs.

Out of all of the CW shows that I watched, it's only Legends that I've kept watching, which got stronger once it embraced it's Kitschy campiness.

Batwoman look bad from the trailer, and I'll probably miss it.

I know it's not CW, but I still cannot believe we still haven't got Doom Patrol here in England............................

PS I hope Zari returns soon

I'm actually looking forward to this. I'm also glad that they are finally acknowledging Batman's existence in Arrowverse.

Supergirl is basically a Superman TV show (and it's not that bad on the whole). They've appropriated a lot of the elements from traditional Superman and just put it through a distaff filter. We can have a debate about whether Supergirl deserves better or not (her early comic history largely is a gender-flipped Superboy and her later stuff is ten kinds of complicated).

But I don't think Kate Kane should have that kind of show. She's not just Batman with boobs. But this looks a lot like just a TV-level Nolan tribute with some gender politics on top. (Batwoman can absolutely be feminist and political, but that seems to be the only significant deviation from previous Batman media.)

I had a lot of hope for this one, and it may end up being fine, but as of now it feels to me like this is the only way DC would let Berlanti use a Bat-Signal for his little TV shared universe, and that's all she's really here for: to be the Batman of their Not-Really-Justice League crossovers.

This has massive "the acting and writing are so dreadful that it's loaded with unintentional comedy" vibes going on.

Here's hoping Ruby grows into her role like Amell did. Right now she's terribly flat.

Cancel CW, there's literally nothing worth watching on that network. It's programming is for teeny boppers and chatty Kathy's lol

Eh, it doesn't look bad, but it just isn't doing anything to make me want to see it. I wish they had gone more weird with Alice and I still haven't heard anything from the Mad Hatter being in this, they should freaking team-up here. He should be her tech wiz!

Wow i've never heard Ruby Rose say anything before, and that was not a well-delivered monologue. Sounded not good guys.

Good promo, each one has been better than the last one such as focusing on Batwoman's influence on Gotham during Batman's absence (i.e. the tattoo parlor promo) but my fave was the previous one based on the Alice vs Kate storyline.

It's the final month lap before it comes out in October, expecting more marketing to come out.

Interesting - "freedom to be myself, to play by my own rules" - well apart from nicking Batman's stuff and name.

They really need to think a bit harder when doing these hackneyed attempts at empowerment and maybe do something genuine.

FANBOY: Why does DC overuse Batman and Superman? Can't they showcase other lesser known characters???

CASUAL FAN: Hey, look. A show about Batwoman. I never heard of her.

FANBOY: Yeah, but she sucks and WHERE IS BATMAN??!!??

CASUAL FAN: (facepalm)

Batwoman have any good villains? Or are they going to borrow from Batman's rogue gallery?
