Detectives Gordon and Bullock investigate a child trafficking ring preying on Gotham's street kids, including Selina Kyle (Camren Bicondova). Meanwhile, Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) resurfaces in the countryside and begins to make his way back to GOTHAM, leaving victims in his wake in the all-new "Selina Kyle" episode of GOTHAM airing Monday, Sept. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Based upon characters published by DC Entertainment and produced by Warner Bros. Television, GOTHAM is an origin story of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. Starring Ben McKenzie ("Southland," "The O.C."), Donal Logue ("Sons of Anarchy," "Terriers," "Vikings," "Copper") and Jada Pinkett Smith ("The Matrix" films, "HawthoRNe"), GOTHAM follows one cop's rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. Executive producer Bruno Heller ("The Mentalist") wrote the pilot, which was directed and executive-produced by Emmy Award nominee Danny Cannon (the "CSI" franchise, "Nikita"). John Stephens will serve as an executive producer on the series.

The acting is heads and shoulders above Arrow, but so is Spongebob. The writing is awful tho. How can you introduce so many characters in the first episode? It's a disgrace to the Batman legend. And to kill off the parents already? everything is is just retelling of old stories in a new light. I'm passing.

I agree, @ Nomis. I like that it's gritty. Casting Ben McKenzie as Gordon was a smart choice. And Jada was better than I thought she'd be.

Liked the pilot. Kept thinking "oh it's on now, big mistake! wait till batman shows up you crooked crooks!"

Then I remembered, I have to wait 15 years....

Penguin actor has the looks down but the way he delivers most of his lines seem filled with angst for some reason. Kid Wayne is great, Fish Mooney is very good, Bullock is Bullock, and Gordon is pretty good and I can see how they can make him look older down the line. I did not like the constant name throwing around and the obvious references to sell the show with Batman's rouge gallery, ugh...it's like I get it ...I get it already it's before they become who they are in the comics blah blah blah. But Gordon, Falcone, Bullock, and Wayne are great.

I liked it, at first it was kinda meh but the second half was good.
I still don't know if I like the Penguin or not.
But if they keep throwing references all the show it will be a little annoying

The visuals and style and feel are very good reminds me of a semi-modern Batman The Animated Series which is great! I hope we get Batman soon....Batman needs to return on television and it would work great as a weekly show. Look at how Arrow is doing it...this show could do 10 times what CW usually does. Now I see why having two Batmen is great so you could get different versions and then you can pick and choose which one is your favorite.

I'm sorry but I did not care for this show. Weird character age gaps, solving the Wayne murders (Spoiler it's Joe Chill), and the head banging nods to Nygma and Cobblepott.
