In a recent interview, Robin Lord Taylor, who plays a young Oswald Cobblepot in the Fox television series Gotham, discussed the fan theory circulating around the internet that his character in a twist will evolve into the series' version of the Clown Prince of Crime rather than the Penguin as expected.
Taylor commented, “I find it incredibly unlikely, but at the same time, I have no idea what could happen."  Taylor shared,  “I get the scripts and I’ll read something, and I will be just as shocked as everyone else is when they see it happen onscreen.”

Regarding the details of the theory, Lord said, “I read it, and I was like, ‘Huh.’”  “I was like, ‘Nah.’ But then I was so impressed at the detail that this person went into… the guy who formulated this theory. I was just amazed at the amount of attention that people are paying to the show. I mean, he was looking at the colors of my vest and my suit, and extrapolating off of that.”

So what do you guys think?  Would such a major departure from the Batman mythos be an accepatable change in a series that has already taken artistic liberties with its source material? Share your thoughts below.

unlikely but the dude really should have been cast as Joker as oppose to Penguin. He steals the shows hands down :)

Has anyone noticed that in 3 different episodes now that Donel Logues character has been referred to as "a clown" by 3 different people in the show. He will become the Joker!!
