GOTHAM Showrunner Confirms Two More Comic Book Villains For Season 2

Contributing to GOTHAM's ever expanding rogues gallery, showrunner Bruno Heller has confirmed two more Batman villains for Season 2. And yes, they are from the comic books...

The second season of FOX's controversial TV series, Gotham, is still a couple of months away but that doesn't stop more and more news from flooding in, especially when Comic Con 2015 is in town. Contributing to an already impressive villainous line-up including the Joker, Penguin, Tigress, Mr. Freeze, Hugo Strange and a few others, Bruno Heller has just confirmed two more villains that we can expect to see in the upcoming season. These characters are none other than the Flamingo and Firefly.

But don't take my word for it. In a recent interview with IGN, Heller was asked about what other villains we can expect to see in the season besides those who have already been confirmed. Heller stated the following: "[Tigress and Theo Galavan] are our big bad villains of the year. I don't want to say to much about them because they need to walk on stage unheralded for maximum impact. We've got some great, fun villains coming up like Flamingo and, for the real fans, Firefly."

Firefly, as he appears in the first season of ARROW

Compared to other characters we've previously seen in the series, Firefly and the Flamingo are relatively unknown to those who don't the comics. Interesting enough, Firefly was actually featured in the first season of Arrow as a killer of the week. Don't expect to see much more of him in the CW shows, as he was killed at the end of the Arrow episode he was introduced in. In the comics, Firefly is a flame-thrower carrying pyromaniac based in Gotham City, known to cause problems for the Batman (as you can imagine).

As for the Flamingo, he is a mob enforcer that appears in Grant Morrison's Batman & Robin series who eats the faces of his victims.

The stakes are higher than ever as GOTHAM explores the origin stories of some of the most ambitious and depraved Super Villains, including The Riddler, The Joker and Mr. Freeze, and Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) uncovers more secrets from his father’s past, in the Season Two debut on Monday, Sept. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

I could care less, and I actually liked the first episode. Then it fell apart though and never recovered.

No, they don't all agree. That's why the show is starting season TWO. It may not be the best CB series on TV (at least many believe that), but it is the most original. That's what I like about it, and obviously enough other viewers do to bring the show back.

Hopefully this Firefly version will be good. Smallville's was crap, Arrow's was too, so I'd like to see him finally be given justice.
