I find it dumb as [frick] Montoya and Allen are Gordon's age (hell all the random character changes)... Even Bullock being Gordon's 'mentor', and Barbara is randomly a rich bisexual... Show just feels and looks cheap and show would've been a million times better if it focused on young, rookie Jim Gordon learning the ropes and then making detective and being paired with Flass whilst a young-ish Carmine Falcone rises to power with the season finale being saved for the Wayne murders... Such wasted potential... Only watching this cos it's Batman, hope it gets better but ain't feeling hopeful...

Come on naysayers, loosen up those sphincters. Practically all movie and TV comic book adaptations are "alternate" versions in one way, or another. Comic books themselves have alternate versions of characters. Nick Fury wasn't always a black dude, and the acronym for S.H.E.I.L.D. stood for something completely different than it does now. But, both versions still exist simultaneously.

This really is the Phantom Menace of the Batverse.

Based on how much older the other characters will be, by the time Bruce takes up the mantle, you could (conceivably) bring back Jack Nicholson as the Joker. The age would be about right.

I keed, I keed! The show has been decent. Unrustle your jimmies.

The ONLY characters this show should be focusing on are Gordon & the GCPD.... The mafia and Penguin's rise. All this Bruce Wayne/ Selina Kyle/ Riddler/ Zsazs & Harvey Dent characters are just tiresome i serts to remind us it's a Batman show, or at least set in Batman's world. But the fact is, Batman is at least 13years away. So i don't need to be constantly reminded with stupid easter eggs & cliche crap like a little street kids who can steal anything, hey look she moves like a cat - it's Catwoman. Hey look, Bruce is begining his detective wrk, he's training to fight - he's on the road to becoming the Bat! Who cares? We aren't goin to see Batman, so let's get into Gordon, the mob & Penguin and quit with the stupid foreshadowing. This is the most interesting parts about Gordon. This show is so desparate to be Batman relevant that they're bringing in a host of Bat-villains but making them into adults to further the story. To me it just seems pathetic and i'll be very surprized if this lasts more than 2 seasons

Don't see why everyone is so annoyed that this is based before Batman. I just see it as a show based around Jim Gordon's origins.
