The CW Orders More Episodes Of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW As Season 2 Gets Even Bigger

Season two of Legends of Tomorrow was only expected to run for thirteen episodes, but The CW has added to that thanks to strong reviews and ratings. Hit the jump for details on those extra instalments.

We're already four episodes into Legends of Tomorrow season two (the fifth airs tomorrow), and considering the fact that it's only set to consist of thirteen instalments, many fans worried that the Legion of Doom won't get the screentime they deserve. Well, The CW is clearly happy with how it's been doing for them as The Hollywood Reporter confirms that they've added four more episodes.

That takes us to seventeen, and it likely helps that Legends of Tomorrow is doubling the ratings of newcomers like Frequency and No Tomorrow (pairing it with the long running Supernatural was clearly a decision which paid off). The series never beats Arrow, The Flash, and Supergirl, but it averages a 0.9 rating and close to 2.4 million viewers in live-plus-same-day showings. That's obviously pretty good!

Are you excited that Legends of Tomorrow season two will be sticking around longer than expected? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts on this development in the comments section below.

@ComicsBornAndBred - I was really hoping this season would have been focusing primarily on the JSA... Alas it's the same season 1 team.
Was kinda hoping it would've been something like:
S01 - Legends team
S02 - JSA team
S03 - Legion of Superheroes
S04 - Teen Titans
Something along those lines of a different team every season

Last season this was last on my list of DCTV shows but it has quickly become #1.

1. LoT
2. Arrow
3. Flash
4. Supergirl

Gotham kinda just floats around even though I'm enjoying this season as well.

Not a fan of the CW shows anymore, just lost my interest after S3 of Arrow. Liked Supergirl only because of Melissa Benoist, beautiful and charming in the role. However, i'm glad the audience is still embracing them because it only helps the comicbook TV show genre.

I saw one of those SYFY movies last weekend with Lotz, Routh and Tom Cavanagh. The movie was just okay but I thought it was cool that they were in it together.

Last episode was the best this season. Oh, and a possible Zatanna easter egg in tonight's Arrow?
