"Give peace a f*cking chance!"
The Suicide Squad director James Gunn has just shared the full-length trailer and a new poster for Peacemaker, which has now been confirmed to premiere on HBO Max this coming January 13.
This latest teaser gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the show, as John Cena's unhinged vigilante is recruited by A.R.G.U.S. to "save the f*cking world" from a mysterious group known as The Butterflies (something to do with Madame Butterfly, perhaps?).
Smith's teammates are initially - and understandably - hesitant to work with him, but he's a "grower, not a show-er" (as good an excuse for a dick joke as any), and his colleagues soon begin to warm to Peacemaker, his even less bright partner Vigilante, and his winged pal Eagley.
Check out the bonkers new trailer below, and let us know what you think in the comments.
Peacemaker will also star Jennifer Holland, Danielle Brooks, Steve Agee, Chris Conrad, and Chukwudi Iwuji. Specific plot details are still mostly under wraps, but we do know that the series will explore the origins of Cena's titular DC Comics villain/antihero, a man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it.
