Another Iconic Superman Villain Is Coming To Season 2 Of SUPERGIRL

Kara Danvers has taken on her fair share of Superman villains over the past year or so, but now another is coming to season two of The CW series for a two episode arc. Could he bring The Flash to Earth-38?

According to ComicBook.com, iconic Superman villain Mr. Mxyzptlk will make his presence felt in Supergirl next year. No one has been cast in the role as of yet, but the site ays that he'll appear in two episodes. A cartoonish character for many years, he was turned into a more serious threat for stories like Countdown to Final Crisis and Grant Morrison's run on Action Comics at the start of The New 52.

Mr. Mxyzptlk is a fifth-dimensional imp with the power to do almost anything he can imagine. He could transform Superman into ashes or erase him from existence, but for him, there's no real fun in that.

Considering the fact that Mxyzptlk once pitted Supergirl against The Flash, he would be the perfect foe for those two heroes in the upcoming crossover which will see Melissa Benoist and Grant Gustin make good use of their Glee background with a musical episode. We'll have to wait and see, but it's going to be interesting to see how Supergirl ends up handling this villain's next small screen appearance.

Sooner or later, they're gonna run out of Superman villians and start using Batman villains.

As with flash I starting to get tired of this villian of the week formula

As much as this show and pretty much the whole CW is not for me at all it's appealing the sheer number of characters they bring in week in and week out. I'm a huge fan of Marvel Netflix and generally hate shows with the CW's campiness and humor but sometimes it's just cool to watch even though it becomes very ridiculous and cringeworthy.

Commend the network for bringing their cross-over shows together ($$$ flow), now do the radical thing CW and work with Warner Bros to make a "Gotham" cross-over.

@JohnnyTBP - After they get done with the hundreds of Superman villains. We have yet to get Borden Moseley, Glowman, or Duran.

Green Arrow Villains they could use on Arrow, who haven't appeared:
Onomatopoeia
Richard Dragon
Onomatopoeia would make a great big bad, and it would be great to see a more comic accurate version of Count Vertigo.
Batman villains that they could use:
David Cain
Lady Shiva
Black Spider
for me it isn't a big deal for them to use Batman villains, as long as they don't use any of the major ones like joker, riddler, catwoman, bane and others like that. Ra's al Ghul being used was ok for me cause while Ra's mainly goes against batman, he is a villain to the whole DC universe, he almost took out the JLA, plus there is a connection between green arrow and the league of assassins in the comics, Merlyn is a member, its not like they made something up so they could use him.

@dracula - I think Gotham prevents them from using most the Batman villains. Somehow Ra's al Ghul managed to slip under the rug, and probably won't ever show up on Gotham anyway.
