Following a brief teaser promo, we have the first actual footage from Supergirl season 2 for you guys to take a look at.

We've seen numerous set pics and official stills of Tyler Hoechlin's Superman at this stage, but the trailer also features our first proper look at The Man of Steel in action as he teams up with his cousin to protect their cities from some kind of catastrophic event.

In Season One, Supergirl soared fighting crime and battling various villains, chief among them two Kryptonians who were intent on destroying earth, but she has yet to find that same empowerment as Kara Danvers. Now, in Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO., protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.

Supergirl returns for its second season on Monday, Oct. 10.

Can't wait!

No big changes in the FX, at least from this teaser!

I'm no expert, but is CBS> CW for when it comes to budget?

@Doomsday8888 - I agree. FX hasn't changed that much, but they still have half a month to improve, which is some decent room for TV shows.

As far as budget, it depends. CBS has the upper hand in categories like location (for example, season 1 of Supergirl was filmed in LA), but that requires a lot of their budget. CW does have a bit better delegation of budget, like with visual effects, costume design, and what characters they use.

It looks cool but why was he running? Is that how he gains momentum for flight?

@BabyGroot - I assume you are under 25 or so? So, when Superman used to fly, that was sort of his trade mark, run, rip shirt open, take off. Ie, Christopher Reeve in the beginning of Superman II or most comics from the 80s.

Still can't forget about his Teen Wolf work, but that doesn't mean I won't still give him a chance despite my disdain for this show.

@Shield23 - He was pretty cool in Everybody wants some. Didn't even realize it was him off hand.

He looks pretty much exactly how you'd imagine a CW take on Superman would look.

@RorMachine - Now if we can just throw some type of unnecessary dramatic superman love triangle in there... the CW version will be complete!

If he can embody the hope and optimism the big blue boy scout is known for, I'm behind him.

But I will say it's odd seeing Supes in this way. Not as big. I've always really liked the fact that he's really this BIG CORNFED FARM BOY. He's a big imposing guy with a heart of gold. Gentle giant in a way. He's like a lot of this farm guys who grow up in the Midwest.

Welling really sold that.

@ComicsBornAndBred - Yeah, I understand your point. I'm not a bit on him being a huge cornfed farm boy because he is an alien, so it really doesn't matter what you feed him. But I did like Welling's size for the role. I'll live. :)

@Kryptonick724 - I meant it in terms of there's that designation of CORNFED farm boys are usually big guys with a gentle soul ya know.

A freida mine is from Missouri and his family owns a farm. He was a football player, big guy, but the nicest person you'd ever meet. Wed always say he's a classic CORNFED Midwestern kid.

I know what ya mean. It's not a huge issue for me though.

@Doomsday8888 - Smallville Jonathan is the BEST yet, in any incarnation.

He was the epitome of a loving and caring father t the point where he almost obsessed over protecting Clark early on frm being revealed to the world. He always encouraged him that he was a gift to the earth and one day, I remember he said this:

"you're gonna change the world Clark. Touch so many lives. Not just as a man, but as a symbol. A symbol of hope. A symbol of peace and justice."

"You're the going to be the greatest hero this world has ever known."
