With Supergirl still out of action following her battle with Reign, Mon-El and the rest of the Legion are going to have to step up to the challenge, and we have a first official look at Chris Wood in his new combat duds right here.

A far cry from the character's comic book outfit, this costume is basically... a leather jacket. Still, there's always a chance Mon-El will add a few bells and whistles as the series progresses.

What do you guys think?

Supergirl returns for its midseason premiere on Monday, Jan. 15 at 8 p.m. ET, and you can also check out the synopsis for the episode below.

“Struggling to heal from her injuries inflicted by Reign, Supergirl remains in a dreamlike state, unable to be reached. Mon-El recruits one of the Legion members, Brainiac-5, to try to bring her back. Meanwhile, Reign continues her rampage on the city so the DEO teams up with the Legion of Superheroes to try to stop her.”

@CMgeek - Well it's not like Mon-El was ever super muscular.

@CMgeek - Muscles ain't important, but the costume is too generic, especially considering the comics costume wasn't exactly super-elaborate and would be easy to transfer from the page to the screen.

@DetBullock - Agreed, don't understand what's wrong with his original from the comics version. Color me very disappointed.

.......WHERE. IS. TYLER?!

Seriously. Just make Superman a semi recurring character to lead into his own show.
