While there was definitely room for improvement during Supergirl's first season, it had enough great moments that a second year was a must. Unfortunately, that's not something CBS was particularly interested in, so thank goodness The CW has come to the rescue. It remains to be seen how the world of Kara Danvers will be merged with that of Green Arrow and The Flash, but before that becomes an issue, the Girl of Steel will be teaming up with Superman for a sure to be epic couple of episodes.

Titled "The Adventures of Supergirl," the network has today released the first official description for the episode. Shedding some more light on what brings Superman to National City and that pod which crash landed on Earth during the season one finale, this definitely sounds like it will be well worth checking out. Supergirl debuts on The CW on October 10th. Are you guys excited to see her arrival on the network? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

THE CW HAS A NEW HERO AND SHE’S BRINGING SUPERMAN WITH HER — When a new threat emerges in National City, Kara/Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) teams up with her cousin, Clark Kent/Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin), to stop it. Kara is thrilled to have family in town but it leaves Alex (Chyler Leigh) feeling a bit left out. Meanwhile, Hank (David Harewood) and Supergirl are stunned by the pod that came crashing to Earth. Glen Winter directed the episode with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Andrew Kreisberg and Jessica Queller.

Supergirl never really impressed me. In my opinion, the best episode was the Flash/Supergirl crossover. Flash brought some much needed energy to the show. Having Superman on the show?

@TheArkhamKnight -

I stopped near the beggining of the season and didn't even see that episode.
My issue with it was that it had all of the cliches of female shows and was very Twilight-esque.
Hopefully she is more Super-heroic now, I'll give it another go.
