SUPERMAN & LOIS: A War Is Coming In The New Promo For Season 1, Episode 9; "Loyal Subjekts"

Next week on Superman & Lois, it sounds like that war John Henry Irons warned everyone about could be a lot closer than anyone may have anticipated. Meanwhile, the Kents dig up dirt on Morgan Edge.

Following another excellent episode that laid the groundwork for a potential team-up between Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) and John Henry Irons (Wolé Parks), it looks like next week's installment will redirect the focus to an even larger threat that could bring about pain and destruction all across the globe.

While Irons did hit the open road at the end of the last episode, Parks is a series regular and should be a fixture throughout the rest of the season, which will hopefully result in him officially adopting his Steel alter-ego.

Meanwhile, the trifecta of Clark, Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch), and Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) team up to figure out why exactly Morgan Edge (Adam Rayner) is so interested in Smallville and what he has planned for the town and its residents.

Check out the new promo for season one, episode nine, titled "Loyal Subjekts," below:

"Loyal Subjekts" - (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

I wonder what the point of calling John Lex from the begining was, like where’s true correlation within the show? I was hoping he was going to be the big bad for the whole season. Also, why don’t his sons know about supergirl?! They all live on the same earth now.

Best show on the CW. At this point, I wonder if General Lane will end up assembling the Superman Revenge Squad. I won't be surprised if Metallo is introduced as part of Project 7734.

Also, it sounds like evil Kryptonians like General Zod haven't shown up in this universe yet. Otherwise, Superman's loyalty would already be tested.

Best new superhero show of the year.

Best superman comics adaption since the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve films.

Best Superman since Christopher Reeves.

Now hopefully the movies take notes. Don't need to completely change the character to make himm "relatable". Change the world not the character

@dracula -

Superman Returns tried to go the same route. Change Superman's world while not changing the character.
They just took it too far by

1. Throwing in an unplanned love child, unknowingly fathered by Superman with Lois, into the mix.

2.Overdoing Superman's "moping" over Lois being involved with another man which included Superman
"spying" on Lois.

I like how the show was able to show that Superman was capable of spying on others but it was coming
not from a place of selfishness, but in his desire to protect those he loves. I also liked how Lois and his sons
called Clark on his eves dropping but they did so in a manner that didn't diminish respect for Superman
as a character.

I really think the CW missed an opportunity not having this version of Superman interact with the Green Arrow
on a consistent basis. Not only is Arrow the closest to Superman and Lois in tone, but Oliver Queen would
have made the perfect foil for Clark in the Arrowverse taking Batman's place in the role.

@WarnerBrother - agree.

Wish we could get some more with Oliver and Clark (Doubt a Batman show will be a possibility any time soon). Guess we could get that with Batwoman, but really this show is so good and that show is so bad, that I hope they scrap any plans for a crossover between the two. Wish I could love the Batwoman show, but it lets me down with almost every choice they make.

@dracula - Batwoman gets worse with every episode and I was actually glad when they canceled the crossover this year.

@AtakanKaratas - Yup, really I stuck with most of season 2, hoping it would get better, then I was going to drop it, but then they put it on the same day as Legends Of Tomorrow, if it werent for me being a big Batfamily fan, id have dropped it after season 1.

Easily the worst thing the Arrowverse has ever put out. If they ever do get a chance at Batman, put him on Superman and Lois not Batwoman.

@dracula - For real though, Batwoman had so much potential. Exploring Gotham and the batfam within the Arrowverse was so exciting to me and it still is. But the show spends so much stupid time on unnecessary empty alleys and underground bases it just doesn't feel authentic. City feels so dead and not in a good way. Even Arrow spent some good time in the streets of Star City to establish the city.

@AtakanKaratas - Yeah seriously, Gotham was far from perfect, but it truly brought the city to life in every possible way. Should seriously have taken some notes from that.

Didn't have a superhero

Didn't have access to all the villains

Had a large cast who all took up a large amount of screen time and they made it worth watching for 5 years.

Seriously with the early 2000's Birds Of Prey and now Batwoman, what is so hard about making a good show around a member of the Bat family? The Bat Family is one of the most interesting group of characters in all comics

"Superman Returns tried to go the same route. Change Superman's world while not changing the character."

I think Superman's moping and the over-the-top Christ metaphors (years before Snyder did it) is proof that Superman Returns didn't do that, even though it tried to. Even Lex Luthor didn't feel like the same character from the Richard Donner films.

I've been really liking Jonathan, he's not my lil cute "Jon" from the comics, but still...

This show does not disappoint. I really liked the flashback sequence where they showed just a hint of COIE and how Irons end up on Earth-Prime. That final scene with the military also reminded me of BvS Martha scene.

I get that they are trying to make it standalone as possible but it is still part of the Arrowverse so I expected them to be surprised by a man coming from another earth as multiverse no longer "known" to exist.

To be honest, I'm getting pretty sick of Jordan. Every episode he causes some fight and then at the end it's all "oh i'm sorry". Just kinda gets old. Johnathan is just so much better a person.

Costume needs a wider collar, I don’t like that t-shirt collar look
