The CW's upcoming Superman and Lois series has added another member to its cast in the form of Canadian actress Stacey Farber (Degrassi), who has joined the show in the recurring role of Leslie Larr.
This new character is described as “the right hand to one of the most influential people on the planet, she’s gone from a young, idealistic dreamer to a hardened, world-worn dream killer. Athletic, strong… and oftentimes heartless.”
Leslie Larr is clearly a play on Lesla-Lar; a Silver Age Supergirl villain who hailed from the Bottle City of Kandor and actually switched places with Kara for a time in the comics. Whether Farber's character turns out to be Lesla or her name is just an homage remains to be seen, but we recently found out that Mad About You actress Sofia Hasmik joined the cast as Chrissy Beppo, so this could turn out to be a recurring theme.
There's also speculation that the "influential" person from the description is Lex Luthor, and we reckon that's a fairly safe bet!
This new series will be a little different to previous Supes-centric shows, as the story will focus on Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) raising a family and dealing with the "stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society." Former Flash showrunner Helbing will executive produce the show with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions.
Superman & Lois is set to premiere on The CW in 2021.
