Superman & Lois season 2 has delivered its fair share of surprises so far, but one of the biggest is yet to come. New set photos have revealed that Clark and Lois' son, Jon Kent, will be getting a comic-accurate costume...albeit one that doesn't necessarily belong to him in the comic books.

The teenager can be seen decked out in an ensemble clearly inspired by Superboy's costume in the 90s. Everything from the black t-shirt with Superman's logo to the leather jacket, red pants, and gloves pay homage to Connor Kent's first appearance in the pages of The Adventures of Superman #500. Needless to say, this has generated a lot of speculation among fans on social media.

Connor hasn't appeared in Superman & Lois, and there's no indication that will be the case. It's also worth noting that Jordan Kent is the one with powers in The CW series (he's even taken on the "Superboy" mantle, much to Jon's chagrin). There could be some multiversal madness going on here or it could just be a costume he's donned that will be little more than an Easter Egg for fans.

We'll have to wait and see, but it will likely be a good few months before we get any context. Superman & Lois' second season has received positive reviews and is currently airing on The CW.

Tell me you dont watch the show without telling me you dont watch the show...

Jon's girlfriend is selling the serum that makes kids "feel like Superman." Jon took it to do better on the football field and now he loves using it. There's also a team of "Supermen" going around, even though only one is still alive after Bizarro killed them.

It's pretty obvious the direction they're taking Jon and you dont even need the set photos to figure it out.

I love Superman but just havnt gotten round to watching this show at all. So… let me get this straight, they gave him too sons, one of the called Jon and instead of becoming Jon from the comics he’s becoming Connor from the comics?

Expected Jordan to be the one to wear the Dashboard Confessional Superboy outfit, but other than that still expected to see it eventually. I mean, show's production has a bigger boner for 90s Superman than emergency room Viagra patients.

For anyone that doesn't want to hunt through websites to find the actual images.

I just don't want this show to be overcrowded with super heroes.

Each Cw show had its super-team (along with a hacker who could break in anywhere) and that was one of the lame aspects of every show (because the team was OP so they had to make the villains stronger, which didn't make much sense, like Cicada in Flash or S6 of Supergirl).

Less is more.

Also this season has been stellar so far, the only thing I don't like is having another Cw character with addiction to drugs (Lynn in Black Lightning, Roy in Arrow).

Thank god that they didn't bring in Doomsday as everyone thought after the first episode, because he should be at least as big as the Hulk (maybe bigger).

Bizzaro seems fine so far, I hope they don't give him the child attitude he had in the comics (that reverse-talking would be a live-action horror).

I enjoy the frenemy dynamic between Kal and the new general more, than with Lane in S1.

Getting hype from those stills.

I agree these aren't Earth Prime's Jonathan and Clark, the pics confirm that it is Bizarro. Or at least it used to be a very normal-looking Superman from another Earth that teamed up with a doppelgänger of Jonathan's that had powers and was very inspired by the Kon-El Superboy from the 90s. Not just from the red gloves but also his black boots.

Maybe this is pre-Bizarro back on his "Bizarro World"? All before of whatever happened to him that turned him into that chalk-looking unkempt Superman with inverse powers? Maybe right before he went through some kind of "Bizarro-fication" process? This episode could be his origin story. Or something else but I am sure the element of Bizarro is in it.

Before seeing this I wondered if they did paint white Tyler's face for his opposite self character, maybe it was not practical effects and it is post-production CGI then?

Really looking forward to the new episodes.

The website Just Jared also shared new pictures.
