GRODD RETURNS! - Barry (Grant Gustin) must deal with the Reverse Flash's (Tom Cavanagh) latest threat to a member of the group. To make matter worse, Dr. Wells unleashes Grodd on the city in order to distract Barry and the team. Joe (Jesse L. Martin), Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) head down into the sewers to catch Grodd but the gorilla quickly gets the upper hand after he kidnaps Joe. Iris (Candice Patton) and Barry have a heart to heart talk. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & Kai Yu Wu (#121).

THE FLASH is a fast-paced super hero drama that follows the high-speed adventures of Central City Police scientist Barry Allen, an everyday guy with the heart of a hero and the genuine desire to help others. When an unexpected accident at the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator facility strikes Barry, he finds himself suddenly charged with the incredible power to move at super speeds. While Barry has always been a hero in his soul, his newfound powers have finally given him the ability to act like one. With the help of the research team at S.T.A.R. Labs, Barry begins testing the limits of his evolving powers and using them to stop crime. With a winning personality and a smile on his face, Barry Allen — aka The Flash — is finally moving forward in life … very, very fast!

I was hoping they would save Grodd for season 2 and make him the main villain. As things stand now it looks like the budget can only handle him in short bursts.

The whole time...Wells was watching Barry enjoying RedTube, trying out his own vibrating hand!

Pervert!

@TheAxiom - I liked the episode until...
1. Wells confesses...twice, and the cops go "That wasn't a confession." (I'm pretty sure him saying "I didn't mean for Barry's mom to die" would be considered a REALLY explicit confession in ANY court. Especially when he followed it with, damn, what was it? Something about blaming Barry's dad I think.)
2. Iris flashes back to touching Barry's hand (BTW, was that an actual flashback or something they just input into this episode?) w/the electricity, and for absolutely no reason whatsoever, after Iris and Flash have met numerous times and after Flash has touched dozens of others w/out the electricity thing AND while he's in a PROTECTIVE SUIT, the electric spark happens again. It made NO sense.

All I ask of a show (ANY show...or movie...or whatever) is to:
A. Follow the rules of the real world it has decided are valid in its world.
B. Follow the rules of its own world that it has asked us to believe.

This show consistently does violated both of these things. It's very frustrating.

And I still hate the costume. Oh, and the roof thing WAS incredibly cliched.

The redirect virus is back!

Anyone here watch the second season of The 100, also on The CW? They had a similar CGI looking Gorilla in that, can't have been a coincidence, maybe that gorilla was used to test the technology. It was convincing CGI anyway. Looking forward to this episode, watching at UK pace. See! We don't get everything first.

@ThePowerCosmic

Actually I wasn't trolling but serious. I enjoyed AoU but CGI was distracting and looked unfinished. Hulk looked so much better in first one, in this one most of the time he looked like a green blur. And I am not saying the CGI in Flash is better than AoU but CGI on Grodd looks sharper and very polished here.

@Dev7
Because Everyman ain't a speedster. He doesn't gain abilities from shapeshifting.
You miss the part where [fake] Wells had eyes on everyone this whole time.
He was definitely "there" when Cisco was talking aloud while dreaming.
So duh, ofc he did.

@Dev7 "coincidental" if not a single thing in my response makes sense from a narrative and character standpoint.
I could see how newcomers would be slightly lost,
but the ep does just enough to fill them in on those exact questions.

Should if and only if that wasn't clear in the first place, which it is.

I find it hilarious and very telling that there are a ton of AoU stories on the front page, but this one escaped.

Flash beats SHIELD in the ratings for the first time since it premiered.

But we won't hear a peep about it on MarvelShaftRiders.com here.....
