Despite one of the more obvious twists in the show's history, Barry's first visit to Central City was still an eventful one as he managed to take down Solovar and then narrowly escape the clutches of Grodd.

Next week's episode will bring the fight back to Central City as Grodd arrives on Earth-1 with his deadly gorilla army, hellbent on bringing his former homeworld to the ground. To stop him, Barry teams-up with Kid Flash, Jesse Quick, Vibe, and Gypsy in an epic showdown for the ages.

Check out the promo for episode fourteen, "Attack on Central City," below:

"Attack on Central City" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (Content Rating TBD) (HDTV)

THE EPIC CONCLUSION TO THE TWO-PART BATTLE WITH GRODD - When Grodd (voiced by David Sobolov) and his army of gorillas bring the battle to Earth-1, The Flash (Grant Gustin) and team must find a way to stop them before they destroy Central City. Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) returns to join the fight. Meanwhile, Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane) decides she wants to stay with Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) on Earth-1. @Nightmare - That S.H.I.E.L.D. episode, though. First time I watched it before the Flash, because of all the hype and man did it deliver. Why couldn't they lead the series with that? Woulda saved a lot of headache. Flash was good, too.

Last nights episode was the best if the season! The visuals in the Flash vs Solovar fight were astonishing for the show. Seriously, a real step up for this season. Stoked for next week!

I feel like the other gorillas from Earth-2 should have actually spoken, not telepathized through the real actors.

I liked the episode; except the part where Barry is totally useless and indecisive in battle despite having done this for quite some time now. In the episode where he saves the passengers on the train by phasing the whole thing (how the hell did it stay on the tracks then btw, but I digress), he was quick and decisive and didn't need any help. In this episode, they have to remind him to use his speedforce lightning and run really fast? Really?

@adamcawa - Barry is just a human being. You've never gone brain dead in a common situation in your life, due to fear or stress? And complaining about the train staying on the tracks forgets that phasing at all is ridiculous, since you'd also phase right through the floor. It's why Kitty Pryde is ridiculous as well or any ghost that walks (Ghost Dad actually got it right). The power makes zero sense, so just go with it.
