Next week's episode is shaping up to be a big one, with the introductions of both Mirror Master & Top, as well as the reintroductions of Harrison Wells, Jesse Quick, and Captain Cold!

The episode will pick up with Harrison Wells making his way back to Earth-1 with a now Speed Force-charged Jesse Quick, and seeking the help of his old mentee Barry Allen and the S.T.A.R. Labs crew. While he tries to get Barry & Caitlin to convince Jesse to not use her powers, a new metahuman named Magenta, played by Joey King (Independence Day: Resurgence), surfaces and starts terrorizing Central City. Check out the new extended promo below:

"Magenta" - (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET)

EARTH-2 WELLS AND JESSE RETURN TO CENTRAL CITY - Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash are thrilled to reunite with Earth-2 Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Jesse (guest star Violett Beane). Wells confides to Barry and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) that Jesse has all the powers of a speedster and has been saving people on his Earth. He is concerned about her safety and wants them to talk her out of using her powers. Meanwhile, Magenta, (guest star Joey King) a new meta who can control metal, terrorizes the city. Armen V. Kevorkian directed the episode written by Judalina Neira & David Kob (#303). Original airdate 10/18/2016.

Blinded by anger, Barry unwittingly plays into Zoom's game and uncovers the evil speedster's true goal: to destroy all the earths in the multiverse. In the face of his life, Barry ultimately gets the upper hand against Zoom and defeats his nemesis. But unable to celebrate victory, Barry makes a world-shaking decision and speeds back in time to the night his mother died to stop Reverse Flash from killing her, irrevocably changing his past and redetermining his future.

The writers seem to have forgotten that Barry is supposed to be faster than before. He became fast enough to beat Zoom who was owning him easily. Since then, The Rival, Jesse, Wally have not undergone such strenuous training and effort to become faster, they could not be in Barry's league.

But they flipped the reset button, just like they did last year and removed all of Barry's gains. After beating Zoom and Reverse Flash he gets defeated by Rival and saved by Cisco. Meantime, new speedsters never seem to have difficulties learning as Barry does. He even learns things from them.

In the early episodes it was implied Barry was the best of the speedsters. But going into year 3 he can't fight, even after Arrow trained him. He can't outrace new speedsters and I don't think he's invented a single speedster technique but steals ideas instead.

That aspect of the series got old last year. The writers seem unwilling or unable to move this series forward. Ironically, they have Jay accuse Barry of not moving forward.
